* Ordinary curing and smoking does not kill Trichinella. (Trichinella also occurs in some wild game - this is what caused the problem with the cougar jerky mentioned above)

Pig is a very dirty animal, why would you eat a very dirty animal?
My uncles brother (my aunts husbands brother) owns a pig making, I mean pig raising plant where he raises them. They have to go to such lengths, just so they don't kill you quickly, think about it, anything so terribly dangerous for your health, can't be good for your health.

Unfortunately, you're not going to get anyone to see your point unless they already see your point. I do see your point and agree with the Bible 100% concerning what is clean and unclean and I don't eat it or drink it at all. But, preaching such health issues to an unconverted heart is like casting pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6).
Too many people hold only to the concept that people a long time ago were dirty, unkempt, and practiced extremely unclean butchering and cooking skills. Thus, they think everything God had to say to them concerning clean and unclean no longer applies because we have such advanced tools to promote cleanliness, etc.
What they don't accept is that, as a result of sin, God had to make certain creatures (the "unclean" animals) to be scavengers and such creatures also don't have efficient waste removal systems (as the "clean" animals do) to remove the toxins from their bodies which comes from the scavenged fodder these scavengers eat. Thus, they don't accept that they are polluting their bodies with such "unclean" meats in spite of how "clean" the butchering and cooking process may have been.
Of course, as a Biblical Christian (and spiritual Jew), it is my goal to follow *all* of the Laws God reiterated to the literal Jews. This includes everything termed "the Law of Moses" -- for Moses framed no law in and of himself. God spoke *all* of the Laws to Moses (Deut. 5:31) and Moses merely transcribed them in a book kept in the side of the Ark of the Covenant (Deut. 31:26). I feel these Laws were actually in place from the Beginning -- not just given for the first time at Mt. Sinai.

I'm not sure I'm as Biblically informed as well as would be good to be, even though I try, but I can tell you that it has been so long since I've eaten pork that I truly can't remember when that was. I can say that I did eat some beef about a year ago when my son came back from his second tour of duty in Iraq and he was craving RED beef (so red that the restaurants told him they couldn't leave it that raw due to health laws). Now, as we "speak", my wife just made me a dish of her wonderful chili spaghetti, a recipe from up north where she comes from, BUT, the meat in the spaghetti is turkey. It's MUCH healthier than beef or pork, and that's the meat we eat, other than fish and chicken, on all occasions. My doctor is satisfied with my health on my checkups and blood tests, so, I must be doing something right. God Bless you.

The bible says a lot of ridiculous things. Says bats are birds and that the Sun rotates around our flat Earth.
The main reason for the biblical prohibition against eating pork is that swine were generally allowed to feed in garbage dumps. The second was purely political.
Pork producers (in advanced societies) no longer use garbage as feed and trichinosis has ceased to be a problem. Seems a god would have figured that out right from the beginning.
As for the spontaneous generation of worms, I think it's way past time someone add a new layer of foil to their hat while considering that these magic worms might be coming from the Coke.

You can also get sick from eating beef, lamb, poultry, fish, or even lettuce that hasn't been washed properly. Pork is perfectly safe to eat if cooked, like any other meat. The fact that people have been eating swine meat for thousands of years and eat millions of pigs every year alone attests for this. The notion of pork as an "unclean" food is a religious one, based on ancient primitive understanding of food poisoning and parasites; but pork is hardly any less safe than any other undercooked food.

You've missed the point of God's message if you think He was ONLY concerned with what the Jews ate or didn't eat.
Nearly all of the 613 Mosaic laws -- including the prohibition against eating pork -- were symbolic demonstrations of various aspects of God's nature. Sure, most Christians basically understand that the Levitical sacrificial laws prefigured Jesus' sacrificial death. But the dietary laws ALSO demonstrated something: that sin will "defile" a person once he or she has taken it into themselves. This "defilement" could be prevented by eating what is God-approved; symbolically speaking, God was telling the Jews -- and us -- that we are to refuse that which is sinful and embrace that which is Godly.

* Bring me a nice cold pitcher of; Aspartame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, and natural flavors. Plus mix in a little fluoride straight from the city tap water supply. Mmmm, sounds good with all those perfect meals mentioned above ( sarcasm ).

The Bible says not to eat pork or shellfish because they are both incompatible with living in the arid middle east.
The Bible is fine with eating fish caught with surface nets, which are the most likely to have toxins which will kill you in one take.
But, um, why doesn't god say "because it has diseases" or "worms" in the Bible, sweets?
Edit: Oh, and by the way, breakthechain.org, which you link to, pretty much refutes everything you say including the urban legend you attach to it.
