Probably not. First, check the slider on the side. However, if your PC won't read the card, I suspect the issue may have more to do with dirty contacts on the card.

Inspect the contacts and remove any debris. If needed, clean the contacts with a pencil eraser or a q-tip. put a drop of windex on the q-tip, which will help remove any tarnish.

Hopefully the card will read after that.

as quickly as I first began utilising SD enjoying cards 2 GB have been very costly and annoying to locate. i'm overjoyed now to locate 2 GB everywhere and intensely low priced! i does not purchase a much bigger one. One 2 GB card held all of my pictures from a one week holiday interior the bahamas approx one thousand pictures. in case you have 10 mega pixels or greater then you definately might opt for a much bigger card or in case you shoot a lot of video on it then bypass larger. yet right it is why i does not. If that card is broken and you lost all your pictures, could you quite have a lot hundreds of pictures... me neither. The longer you place off backing them up, the greater danger you will take. i could even bypass as a information on the thank you to declare purchase 2 enjoying cards that are a million-2GB each and every. That way, while one if finished you could pop in the different and nevertheless have a lot of area notwithstanding that's going to stress you to maintain your p.c.. frequently sufficient to not lose your pictures. Your community low fee mega mart has those 2 GB SD enjoying cards for about $10-12. look for one that has that's very own plastic case. it would desire to be a dollar or 2 greater and it won't look like lots notwithstanding that's going to guard your enjoyed pictures greater desirable.

Check your SD card. On the side is a slide switch or toggle. See if it is in the 'lock' position. Unlock it by sliding it to the "unlock" side.

No, there should be a little button to slide on the side of the MC that will unlock it for you. ;)
