I have asthma and I don't take my inhalers as I should So when I do I get really really shaky as you have said...Since my body isn't really used to taking the inhaler medication I shake. I also believe that if you take it too many times this can also happen because your body isn't used to the amount of medication you are taking which then causes the shakes.

It is a very common side effect from any Albuterol inhaler for Asthma. It basically works by stimulating your Sympathetic nervous system (the fight or flight response basically). This opens up your lungs but also causes increased heart rate and shakiness. It is just how the medicine works, it works great for breathing trouble but that is a side effect that most people just have to be aware of and get used to. Tell your Dr if it is really bad, and they can try other options for management of your Asthma.

If you are having shakiness in your hands and legs, you should probably see your doctor. It may be something other than the inhaler. But I do know that if you take the inhaler more then the recommended number of times it could cause problems. I would talk to your doctor!

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

your inhaler is a steriod which can give you all sorts of symthoms! jittery hands and body, fast heart beat, nervousness, light headedness, insomnia, its all normal and you may not get used to it while you are using your inhaler so only use 1 puff for now and dont use your inhaler more than once per day, and as for the wacko telling you to sleep it off well thats prolly not going to happen but laying down for a minute to catch your breath and relax sounds like a good idea!

Is your inhaler named albuterol? If so, be aware that tremors and jitteriness are a frequently reported but harmless side effect of the medication. If you find them troublesome, you might ask your doctor if you could try Atrovent instead... Atrovent has much less in the way of this side effect BUT is also less effective for asthma than albuterol (that's why the doctors reach for albuterol first).

As others have said.. Albuterol can make you jittery. Many over the counter inhalers contain pseudoephedrine another stimulant.. The young lady who said steroid inhalers will make you jittery is way of base.. The stimulants in the inhalers are causing your symptoms.

Inhalers can make you jittery as a side effect if you take too much or if you're not used to using them. Just try to stay calm, it will pass.
