I am really interested in converting to scientology.
I agree with the main principles of scientology and I would like to know more about officialy becoming a member.
I am 15 right now and I heard that you cant become an official member until you are 18, is this true?
And no I am not just doing it because my I have read about celebs becoming members, I am really serious about this. I have been through the scientolgy website many times. Will my parents need to know about it?

Please dont waste your time trying to talk me out of it, I have read all the anti-scientology sites and personally i think their all ridiculous. I want to know the process of converting to scientology and not your opinions.

As a former scientologist.....
You dont need to "convert" to scientology. Its non-denominational. They dont make you give up your faith to take courses.
The starting courses are pretty cheap so dont sweat the money. And they are great courses. Communications, study, shaking peer pressure.
You can often find a book on Dianetics in the library if you want to start reading up on things before going to a center.
Here is a link to their web site which will try to find a Scientology Center near you.
http://www.scientology.org/mapscn/mqinterconnect?link=pub/cos/scientology/en_US/feature/locator/find
If you are interested in the scientology courses more than the Church of Scientology then you might want to check out the split-off of scientology in non-church mode called FreeZone.
http://www.FreeZone.org
And I think your parents will have to know. Scientologists are very strict about such things (more than many other churches I know of)

I can't believe some people will believe this nonsense Yes, he took a picture with Tom Cruise wearing a sweater with a symbol of Scientology. But how does that mean he is now a Scientologist? Because he was wearing a shirt with a Scientology symbol? Wow... Everything is not what it seems.

You need to be incredibly vain, superficial and wealthy to get involved in scientology. If you actually think scientology is a logical and rational decision, then I suppose its no great loss of mental awareness, so go right ahead and praise the silly alien. The most amazing thing about scientology is how anyone at all can be suckered in to it, but like my grandpa use to say, there's a sucker born every minute.
A couple of thousand isn't gonna get you anywhere, this cult is not concerned with your soul, they're concerned with how much money you give them. A "religion" based on how much money you give them isn't a religion, its a con by a science fiction writer who made a bet he could start a religion, and guess what, he did!

Speaking from a former student of scientology?
Revelation 2
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
6But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Do not trade the truth of the word for it. The things that I had learned had burdened my soul to repentence. The sciences lead to empty questions that resolve for nothing but the edification of man. Do not lose a real God for a thought, serve him alone and not the men and women who surround you. The truth had left them long ago, you cannot support God through words. As it says, only the heart will recieve him, because the mind has already left for another.
I will pray that you find the truth before it comes for you. The truth hurts when it does.

First, I admire your interest in scientology at such a young age. You are correct in thinking that scientology has much to offer, although the adoption of scientology in your life need not result in abandoning your other religious practices or obligations.
I have a friend who is a Freezone Scientologist (independent of the church) and who has considerable training & experience as a scientology auditor. He is also a practicing Episcopalian and is heavily involved with his local church.
I myself am a Freezone Scientologist and have been for 25 years. The Freezone are the "protestants" of scientology if you will. It was formed as a result of a major split in the Church of Scientology some 25 years back over the church leadership's attempts to control & disrupt the private lives of the membership.
I must warn you from personal experience that the Church of Scientology has a lengthy record of not treating its membership & employees fairly. There are in fact numerous instances in the public record of highly abusive practices being targeted at scientologists who had incurred some degree of displeasure with either local or international management. Families have been broken up & businesses destroyed as a result of the church's interference. I have personally known many people who have been so treated by the church.
If you are interested in learning more about the subject of scientology, I encourage you to read some of the basic books. "Self Analysis" & "Fundamentals of Thought" are especially fun.
I also recommend the Freezoneorg online chat group at yahoo groups. It is run by experienced & knowledgeable scientologists who are independent of the church of scientology. There is a tremendous wealth of knowledge about the subject of scientology on that group and they are well suited to answer questions about scientology with straight honest answers.
Newcomers & non-scientologists are welcome. Nor are they pressured to join any group or organization. You are welcome to simply hang out and chat.
As to informing your parents, I hope you have good communications with your parents. As scientologists we encourage good communications between people and your parents have a special interest in protecting your well-being. Your parents are certainly welcome to come and ask questions on freezoneorg.

Before you decide to convert to Scientology, I think you should read every word on each of these web sites:
http://clambake.org/
http://www.cosvm.org/thecult.htm
http://www.whyaretheydead.net/
http://bernie.cncfamily.com/acm/wilson.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology#Beliefs
Then ask yourself whether you still believe, and whether you want to get involved in this kind of thing.

And you're not at all bothered by the fact a science-fiction writer came up with the movement? One that once said in an interview if he were ever to con people he'd invent a religion?

I would start by visiting their website http://scientology.com/
study up on their beliefs and it would be a good idea to study up on other belief systems as well. You don't have to just accept one thing. Then if you really want to do this, I'd contact them for more information. Good luck in your decision.
Edit:
Since you added to your question. I will add to my answer. If you know you want this. I believe you need to contact them via their website and you will be put in touch with a minister.
