read the following question if you are intelligent enough to give a REASONED AND UNBIASED response dont give me no low brow crap or rant unrealted to the question at hand...i'll humilate your ignorance ...so be smart when you answer my questions

My reasoning is thus, prove me wrong:
Immigrants are taking jobs Americans dont want to do, and employers are unable to pay higher wages AND stay profitable.

Therefore, immigrants are not only contributing by way of laborforce to this country's day to day needs, but also by propping up business that would otherwise be defunct if left to pay 16.00$ an hour to wash toilets.....

DAR I dont doubt that an immigrant willing to work harder at a more competitive price in the "free market" brings greater value to the employer and eases his choice thus reducing the market value of that labor...HOWEVER good is relative....that is to say that while it is bad for the worker that WORKS LESS and charges MORE for his less work...It is good for the employer and subsequent employees..the employer can now afford to keep his businness open and reinvest to keep other workers employed at the NEW MARKET RATE the reduction from 18.00 to 8.00 is a MARKET CORRECTION...people dont realize that the market isnt static ..it goes up and down ...we are currently down....but politicians will use this to drive people into a frenzy and then control them!!!!

borderatw:
I speak as I do no matter where I am.
They DO pay taxes in the form of sales property, and income tax Yes income tax...either through a social security or a TIN number(yes even illegals can file to pay taxes with an IRS provided TIN number) and what about the Anti fear of identity theft to work, let's follow
that through... when an illegal uses a false social to work he does two things he PAYS HIS FAIR SHARE of taxes..and he pays into social security. this benefits US CITIZENS in that the person whose social he's using will recieve MORE social at retirement age, and its interesting to note that Antis claim millions of cases of identity theft to work against "native born" citizens, but where are all the law abiding "native born" US citizens that are turning in the false social security benefits they recieve at retirement...wait a minute...wait a minute... i thought we were a law abiding non-illegal country so if there are million of false socials being used for work

2007-11-15 06:56:48 · update #4

where are the millions of reported false income being recieved "native borns" ?????....also the social security system is well known to be broke...DONT YOU PEOPLE REALIZE the catastrophe that would happen with SOcial security if millions of people paying now (granted... Illegaly through false socials) suddenly vanished social security would collapse the politicians see it, business owners see it, acadamia see it...its not that hard

I wont answer your other point in reference to crime because you are making generalizations and that does nothing to further our understanding of the problem

your right i shouldnt humiliate you, you can do that yourself, I apoligize if i sound arragont at that times but faulty thinking (especially at the expense of the down trodden) impassions me

Can I answer this one too? When my kids turn working age I am going to make them go and get summer jobs out in the sun doing hard hard work that Nobody else wants to do. They need to appreciate and be given the values that only hard work presents to people. To live among it and be a part of it so that they Respect other cultures besides their own and so that they are never subject to "Ivory Tower Syndrome". As well they will never be that person who looks down at their brothers and say to them "go home dirty brown man". Those jobs are still there for the kids if they want them. Its the parents that are turning the kids rotten by buying the daggone xbox in the first place. These people complaining are nothing more than lazy bigotts that want to blame all of their problems on other people rather than thinking through an issue. If I'm wrong, somebody say something intelligent rather than spew ugliness.

***by they way*** I noticed a lot of people pissed about your arrogance but not addressing what the guy said. HMMM...

Illegals make up a sizeable percentage of the work forces in some industries, like construction and agriculture. Legal immigrants also work in these industries, though not in nearly the same proportions.

However, in /no/ industry, is th workforce 100% immigrant. None. That means there is no job that isn't already being one by Americans.

So your premise that there are jobs Americans won't do is patently false.

You have been proven wrong.

Thank you.

However, as a bonus I will also prove your other assertion wrong. While it's true that the presence of illegals depresses wages, and thus reduces costs even though illegals make up only about 5% of the workforce, the effect is not so extreme as to drive entire industries out of business. Most notably, there are currently inflationary preasures working thier way through the economy. This is not a period where it is impossible to raise prices. So, most employers will be able to absorb or pass on the modest increase in wages that the absence of illegals might cause.

Some, however, will not. Those employers who have made the heaviest use of illegals, paid them the lowest wages, and made no effort at all to comply with worker safety laws, will face not only higher wage expenses, but high expenses to upgrade fascilities and working conditions. Such employers are not desireable, anyway, since they persistently break the law, and exploit, abuse, and endanger thier employees. Far from being concerned about thier 'inabiilty' to stay in business, we should see the end of thier dishonest operations as an /added bonus/.

My kid would around school, which is exactly what kids did until the huge number of illegal immigrants meant employers could fill the jobs with full time people and not worry about training or schedules. Now there aren't jobs for school kids.

We don't want these jobs to pay minimum. Minimum doesn't suppport schools and other services, and means the rest of us have to subsidize those people. Without the huge influx of illegal labor, the jobs did and would again pay more. Meatpacking paid $18.50 DECADES AGO and now pays about $8.50 in areas where they have RAISED the rate due to immigration raids leaving fewer employees.

Yes, and you are proving OUR point. Excess cheap labor drives down wages and benefits. Righto that it is more value for the employer, the 2% at the top, and hence the reason for the gap between rich and the rest widening.

How would you pay for the schools and services? Because when almost all jobs are low pay jobs you get a tax base like Mexico's and similar services.

I don't want to rain on your parade - but all those jobs were once nice middle class jobs. But if you take a job and reduce the pay by 2/3, eliminate benefits, and take away all the safety precautions then yes, what it pays will not support a first world lifestyle. All of the money the employers make by exploiting cheap labor goes into the pockets of executives. By your reasoning slavery is okay - as long as the plantation owners show a profit.

In order for you to be correct, illegal aliens would have to make up 100% of the work force in any given job sector which they do not.
Illegal aliens send billions of dollars to mexico in remittences every year. Money that would otherwise have been spent here in America. I would guess that employers who hire illegal aliens often benefit from their spending habits and if they are not spending their money here then the fact that an employer would hire an illegal alien has contributed to the businesses demise.
I see that you are NOT using the very important word "illegal' when you make your statements which gives the impression that you do not see the whole picture.

Really full of yourself aren't you? One thing I will say in answer is no one is against legal immigration. Illegal is illegal no matter how you look at it and try to justify it.

you make a very clear point. the jobs that illegal immigrants are doing now is what the ellis island immigrants used to do. it dates way back that Americans never have and never will want to do these jobs. yet you have antis trying to say that Americans used to do these jobs or they would do these jobs what a crock!!
