When Jesus was on earth in the human form, was he omnipitent? If so, then why did he quote, "I alone can do nothing." and "Father, why have you forsaken me."

First of all, this is a very interesting question that you ask.
Many people have difficulty grasping the idea of the Trinity; Father, Son, Holy Spirit. (This is not only Catholic, this is a basic Christian belief).

God is the Supreme Being. Omnipotence is an attribute that describes God's ability to do whatever He wills. God's will is limited by His nature, and He cannot do anything contrary to His nature.

Christ is the SON of God. When Christ said "I can do nothing alone", He was admitting to His FATHER that He doesn't have this attribute. We ourselves can do nothing alone without God. He was showing complete dependence on His Father.

He has this attribute once He is resurrected and goes to Heaven. God is not controlled by His power, but has complete control over it; and His Son knew this.

Jesus walked upon the earth without flaunting in a big way that He was the Son of God. He fit in easily to preach the Gospel.among the people. (or His message). He came to the earth to reveal God.

This is another reason why Christ is not a messenger like the Prophets. He was the eternal Son of God and free from sin.
When Jesus said, "My Father why have You forsaken me?" on the cross, Christ was showing the human part of Himself.
He felt abandoned and alone. But He also knew that He would rise to Glory in three days.

I hope this helps you to understand. Try to do some reading on this subject. There are many wonderful books out there. I would also encourage you to take some basic Philosophy classes as well as Religious Studies classes in college.

I encourage you in your search for Truth.

There can only be one Almighty, and his name is Jehovah. (Ex. 6:3) So, is Jesus omnipotent? No.

If the human Jesus were all-powerful, why would it be necessary for an angel to strengthen him? (Luke 22:43)

As a human, the Father was greater than Jesus. (John 14:28) When Jesus returned to heaven, that ranking did not change. At 1 Cor. 11:3, it says: "the head of the Christ is God."

To trinitarians like Mr. K and Fireball, I'd like to ask: Since you believe Jesus was NOT omnipotent as a human, how could he be part of a trinity in which all three persons are equal? So where was the trinity while Jesus was on earth as a man?

Jesus is not omnipotent. But he is sovereign and sits at the figurative "right hand of the Father". Jesus is Lord over this universe. He never once faltered in his actual faith in the Father...

"The last conscious thought of the human Jesus was concerned with the repetition in his mind of a portion of the Book of Psalms now known as the twentieth, twenty-first, and twenty-second Psalms. While his lips would often move, he was too weak to utter the words as these passages, which he so well knew by heart, would pass through his mind. Only a few times did those standing by catch some utterance, such as, "I know the Lord will save his anointed," "Your hand shall find out all my enemies," and "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Jesus did not for one moment entertain the slightest doubt that he had lived in accordance with the Father's will; and he never doubted that he was now laying down his life in the flesh in accordance with his Father's will. He did not feel that the Father had forsaken him; he was merely reciting in his vanishing consciousness many Scriptures, among them this twenty-second Psalm, which begins with "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" And this happened to be one of the three passages which were spoken with sufficient clearness to be heard by those standing by. "

Jesus was Omnipitent, But Jesus was also very very HUMAN!

At the end of the day no human being wants to feel forgotten or alone.

Jesus likes the "check spelling" feature on Y!A.

Jesus was NOT omnipotent while Incarnate. St. Paul is clear:

That Jesus "emptied Himself" is not a debatable issue (Phil. 2:6-7). Of what He emptied Himself, or exactly what that phrase means, has been an ancient debate.

It is important to know that Jesus shares God's nature. Any position which effectively destroys the Deity of Jesus is wrong. This is the effect of the position that teaches Jesus gave up His divine attributes and characteristics. Those who teach this need to explain how Jesus could remain God while giving up the nature of God. The nature of something is the attributes and characteristics that make it what it is. If Jesus did not have the nature of God, He was not God (see Gal. 4:8).

...Jesus would often refer to His human side...here He would be saying "as a human alone, I have no power"...

...also, I have heard the theory that while on the cross, Jesus took the sins of the world to Him, and since God will not exist with sin, He turned away from His Son at that point and Jesus did not know why...

I think He was, but He came to fulfill a prophecy, so although He possessed the power, He refrained. He was omniscient also, which means He knew the events that were going to unfold. So, He knew he was going to rise and return to Heaven. As far as trying to explain His thoughts and questions, I don't think it can be done literally. Some of His messages have deeper meanings which have to be interpreted.

No. All his power comes from God, his Father. He has been given enough power in his own right to be the second most powerful creature in the universe. Not a bad gig.

Jesus is "God" and yes he is the one and only, most powerful. Yet he has the compassion to say "I for*give you of your sins and if you choose to be with me, I will be there with you , no matter what, you can live in heaven with me forever, just believe in me and I will never fail you, my child ".

It is kinda vague exactly what powers and knowledge he had and didn't have. Why would he have to ask his Father anything, if they were the one and the same? Didn't he know the answer to everything?
