Are they both occultic/free mason or just one? If so, which one? I'm thinking the geometric is the bad one, but maybe both of them are?

Okay, I've looked at the pentagram (thanks Eiliat) and that's what I meant when I called it "geometric" looking. So what I want to know now is if the simple 5 pointed star, which you have in children's books, for instance, is ALSO bad?

It's a Freemason symbol. Medieval Christians believed it to symbolise the five wounds of Christ. But any symbol can be anything that you want it to be, if that is what you use it for.

(1) No, it's not.

(2) The 5 pointed star is used in very, very, very many different ways (law enforcement badge, the rank symbol for a general or an admiral, star on various flags, etc)

(3) It is NOT "free mason".

(4) The INVERTED pentagram (5 pointed star) is often used to identify satanic stuff but it's almost always within a circle

Stars have been used for so many things, there is no one meaning. It was even used in early Christianity to represent the wounds of Jesus. Some uses are occult but it's a symbol of such ubiquitous use that defining it in that way would be completely wrong.

Macy's had it first, so that statement is untrue, also the stars on the American flag have 5 points and of course there's Texas lone star state.

the 5 pointed star or Pentagram is a pagan symbol. Pointed up right it represents spirit, air wind, earth and fire. If it is pointed upside down it is a satanic symbol.

If you turn it upside down it has three points down, symbolizing the trinity pointing at hell. I'm staring at the anarchy "A" by the way.
