What do you need to let her down from? Is she stuck on the roof? Obviously, you don't have a relationship with her and there's nothing to be let down about.

tell her that you are over her, and you still want to be friends with her...but nothing more. state your reasons why, for instance you could say something like "you'll always be my friend, but i've moved on, and so should you"
but honestly there is NO way to tell her without letting you down especially if she is stuck on stupid and won't realize it. if her heart is truly involved she won't be instantly happy. she will be sad. but just be there for her, or sometimes giving her some space will be the best for her. just put yourself in her shoes, and think about what she would enjoy more in her time of sorrow. hope this helps...

In my straight forward opinion, there's really no way to tell someone something that they don't wanna hear without hurting them.
In all honesty she's probably gonna be hurt regardless.
Just be honest with her. Tell her how you feel, and make it clear. Don't be cruel when telling her, but then again do be nice about it because she may not take you seriously.
Women can be that way sometimes.
Say what you have to say and then leave her completely alone.
Don't feel bad that you have to let her know either.

tell her that there was a reason for breaking up and that reason is still very valid, its nothing against her and you want to be friends with her, but you cant have a relationship with her.
