i dont think anyone does that. of course people are happy when other people are intersted in there relgion becuase they are making new friends and teaching the truth to other people but it doesn't mean that they are in a race? thats crazy

Not really, but some religions act like there is. Islam is a totalitarian cult that simply cannot exist in the presence of competing thought (mainly because it's fundamentally flawed, so when people start to actually think about it an compare it, they realize it's idiotic), so it has a vested interest in wiping out competing beliefs.

It does seem like proselytizing is a big part of most monotheistic religions. They're quite capitalistic in that sense -- they must grow to thrive. Either that or its just rampant insecurity -- the very thought that someone else believes something different threatens their view.

All the Abrahamic religions are just too idiotic for me.

When you have conflicting religions each claiming to be the only way to God, it is inevitable that they will fight.

It is not about quantity. It is about quality.

The Bible requires our worship to be pure and undiluted by pagan or man's doctrines. It requires strict adherence to Bible principles. This is the only worship acceptable to God. Most people will refuse to do this as they prefer their own way. It doesn't lead to life, but so what? We are all free to choose life or death.
