saving the soul is more important because the soul is eternal, the body not. however, saving the body is important too; usually the choice wouldn't come up, as one who needs saving likely would need just one (but both should be attempted)

When man was created the scriptures says that after God formed man from the dust of the earth he breathed into his nose and man became a living soul. So if you save his flesh which is made of dust you are saving his soul.(gen.1;&2;)

If I saw someone in danger I may try to help. Only they and God has the power to save their soul. Because in the end the messenger (man) is not the savior of anything. The person has to act upon the path to salvation. And even than is no guarantee of salvation.

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT THE HEART IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK, IT ALSO SAYS THAT OUR BODIES ARE TEMPLES SO I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT; BECAUSE WHAT YOU PUT INTO YOUR BODY CAN DAMAGE YOUR SOUL

Saving the soul is the most important thing because the condition of the soul when we die is eternal. But I don't know the condition of your soul. Because of that, if I were to see you in physical danger and could do something to save your physical life, I would do whatever I could to give you another chance for your soul to be saved, just in case it isn't already.

The soul... but the flesh must be willing... and healthy flesh is more likely to be able to comprehend... so... take care of the flesh first....but it is the soul that will go on...when the soul is secure the flesh can relax... it is kind of and all or nothing deal...take care of both in this world.

we all die physically. but it's our commission to bring souls to a place where they can choose to accept or reject Christ. we can't save them, only they can choose to accept the love of Christ.
