He has done as well as expected with that team. Next year he will be in the chase. He is a top 20 driver on the planet period. The rednecks of Nascar may not like him because he is not a good old boy but he has to be respected by anyone who fully understands racing. This guy can drive and on road courses he will always be a threat to win. Even this year it shows where he is at with his driving skills compared to other Nascar drivers.

He won at Infineon, he must be doing something right. I think he makes a good obstacle for the other drivers. Or I could say he's improving, but that would only be obvious. I think he will do better than the other new guys. I think Montoya just likes American women, so he wants to race in the United States Of America. The guy's doing great!

A bit agressive, but I think it has been somewhat overblown by some who just want to see Juan fail.
I thought he might of done a little better, but around Top 20 is pretty good for a driver who, at the start of the season, only had a few races, and one TV Special worth of stock car expeirence.
I would watch out for him next year though. He will have knowledge of the tracks next season, along with 1 full season of stock car expeirence. If he doesnt contend for the chase next season, I will be surpised.

Overall, I'd give him a solid C+. I'm not a fan & he is WAY too aggressive. However, I do kinda like his fiery attitude & I liked how he didn't back down to Kevin Harvick. I think he will be a very good, not great, but very good NASCAR driver in the years to come. I see maybe 2 wins (1 oval, 1 road course) next year, but he will definitely have a lot more top 10 finishes in '08.

He has done better than most thought he would do...Yes he is agressive, but you can't be a race driver without be agressive. He got a Busch and Cup win sure both on road courses..He'll probably get a Oval win next yr..Most people figure he'd totally bomb out..He has learned alot..yes theres still some rookie mistakes..He'll end up the Rookie of the Yr.. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) I'd give him a 7 as he will only get better.. I've met Juan and Connie several times this yr, they both are great people as well as their two children.. Have a great 2008 JPM..

Hate this guy. With a passion. He's probably the dirtiest driver out there in the circuit. He sucks, he deserves to get his *** beat, like Kevin Harvick almost did at Sanoma. Man that was funny.

He was improving during the year but he seems to have settled in to the 20th position for this last part of the year. He has certainly done better than any of the latest open wheel drivers will.

To be honest I thought he might do a little better than he did. Although overall I guess he did fairly well. I thought he might have picked up at least one other win, and a couple of top 5 finishes. I don't think they are disappointed.

I'd say that his performance was average with all things considered. The road course win was not a big surprise.
EDIT: I agree with Snake on the fact that he hasn't taken any crap. He's been a bit too aggressive, but a lot of that could be frustration. What I liked was the fact that he didn't back down from Harvick when they got into it earlier this year.

I think he has done well. probally will get rookie of the year as for he driving agress. dont they all.( ask harvick and stewart ) 2 of the most agressive drivers out there or the ones with the least regards for other drivers
