Pretty much what I expected from a catholic. Should I have asked you what the Pope says the top 10 signs of false-religion are?

How do we spot a phony?

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

And no one can quote that verse from anything else out there except from the King James Bible. Don't leave home without it!

There is really only one sign of false religion and that is the belief in the existence of a god or gods without any evidence whatsoever to support the claim.
There are thousands upon thousands of them, all suffering from the same false premise.

No self validating book can reasonably be used as evidence.

1division,2 not tolerating sound doctrine, 3 removing or adding to the word of God, 4 their pastors are for hire rather than the biblical sign of "being sent" 5, disunity 6. women pastors or ministers 7. having a founder other than Jesus Chirst 8. man made tradiions (once saved always saved) 9. belief in symbolism in the doctrine of the bread of life( as Jesus taught it in literal terms in jn. 6) 10. apastasy from the truth (evident in 1500's as to reformation)

1) They do not use the Word of God (The Bible)
2) They exalt humanity.
3) They believe that humans can solve their own problems if they just use a certain method.
4) They do not believe that Christ, who was God incarnate, came 2,000 years ago to save humanity by sacrificing Himself.
5) They are works-based [you can only get into heaven by being "good"]
6) If someone comes claiming to be Christ whose feet are touching the ground, he is a "false christ".
7) They use spiritualism.

it's easy to spot a phony. the scattered denominations that resulted from rebellion against the one true Church, which is the Catholic Church that Christ founded. that's a fact. that's how to spot a phony.
