In the Bible why did God (thousands of years ago) predict the types of religious acts that would occur today, and basically say, "If you see this then they worship me with their lips, but not with their heart".

Rev. Solei or whatever, if you really believe that the Bible is ordinary, then that says a lot about your education.

As an Atheist, you should at least admit the Bible is still one of the greatest body of writings every assembled into one book.

The best preserved work of any in antiquity...period.
The most translated, printed, distributed, studied, read, scoffed at, torn apart, and burnt book in THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.

Its contents inspire over 1 Billion people to think about their lives and how they should live better every day.

So insult religions, make fun of God, call us stupid all you want. But when you call the Bible 'ordinary', well...you can figure it out.

Just as you said.

I believe God is all knowing, meaning he knows the future the past and the present, and that he does not live within the confines of time, so he knows them all at once in the same way, not just a memory.

Therefore he knew that you and I would have this conversation, he tries to give us things to help us.

Jessica - feel free to email

By the way, he also left clues in science and other things, if we really study his word, and science and his creation, we will see....... working on that :)
Someone said - when the atheists and scientists finaly get to the top of the mountain of truth, they will notice the theists have been sitting there all along. :)

what religious acts? i respect religion for what it is: a faith to give people hope. however there are the chosen few who push the envelope a bit too far by providing false hope. i often hear religious talking about god predicting events that are happening now but please tell me, email it to me at bairdy4@yahoo.com, which events they talk about? was it a war in the middle east that he predicted? that lot have been killing each other since before christianity.

when someone gives me the exact date of judgement day (so i can put it in my callendar) and true tangeble and cognitive evidence of these clues and such then i will crucify myself for this statement. but until then i will only respect religion in all forms as a people's life choice and their purpose.

sorry to be so crabby but im tired. seriously... its past midnight.

Matthew 7:15-23 15. Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17.Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21. " Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my father who is in heaven. 22.Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive demons and perform many miracles? 23. Then I will tell them plainly,' I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers!'
(Part of it was Jesus speaking)

I believe the reason he warned us was because of men like Kenneth Copeland and The Faith Movement. We as christians need not be fooled by all that.

Because they are only doing it for Glory and Fame and Prosperity just like the Pharisees were.

Sweety, that's not a prediction....that's human nature. Everyone gives lip service from time to time. It was happening then, it's happening now. No book that was written over 2000 years ago is any sort of accurate when it comes to modern life.

Most people pretend to be strong believers.
I mean, none of us has ever personally met up with God... and all we have is a book telling us to serve Him..
I mean, how can you really love someone you've never really met before but you're told to love...

because he is a all knowing GOD . He wanted us to know of these times , he saw it all before time its self began. GOD gives us all free will to choose our path . That is why some choose good and others choose evil.
