Perhaps we should pay more attention to our own sins and less to the sins of others... whether it is an "abomination" or not...

No! God pays attention to it,he is the only one that can erase sin from our lives. If we payed attention to the sins of others are our own sins. It would drive us crazy. We could not possibly endure the change God is helping us go through. God calls some sins abomination because these are sins against the body. These sins are hard to carry, the spirit will not reside in a contaminated body. Sexual sin. There are sins without the body, they are considered ,yet they are easy to deal with because the spirit can come and change readily.
Sexual sin can cause side effects, spirits of depression and suicide, and homicidal behavior. The spirit of Jealousy and hostility. Why because it involves more than one person. The demonic spirits come as one, then after time they bring their friends. They like the region and territory. They come by the thousands.Soon we can become mad, even to the point of self mutilation. Mental illness and stress disorders. This is a generational curse. God is the only one that can speak to us in his word and tell them to come out. Mark chapter 5.

God does not rate one sin as worse than another. We humans do that. To God, any act in rebellion against His commands is sin and all sin is equal in the judgment of death. Fortunately, God has provided a way out of that judgment if we accept the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, made on our behalf.

Hope that helps.

Everything you do is a sin.. If you live your life wondering if your sinning, you will live a miserable life. Just as long as your living a good life and not hurting no one and have god in your heart that the only thing best you can do.

A) the bible says it, not God, God hasn't spoken to anyone directly in centuries
B) the bible says quite a few sins are abominations, and I don't see anyone avoiding shellfish
C) Jesus said the last shall go first and the first shall go last and not to judge, so evidently he's predicting we'd interperet the bible wrong on many points

No, all sins are equal in God's eyes. It's just that there are a lot of people out there saying that certain sins aren't "sins". They just need to be reminded of this.

WHICH SIN?

SIN IS NOT WAGERED OR MEASURED. NO SIN IS GREATER THAN THE OTHER. BUT THE ONLY WAY YOUR SINS CAN BE FORGIVEN IS IF YOU WERE BORN AGAIN BY BAPTISM
