if you are heart healthy then training at a high intensity is optimum for weight loss. the greater the intensity of exercise the greater the increase in the resting metabolic rate there will be after exercise. this is where real fat loss occurs, not during the actual training session.

check out HIIT Cardio and Max-OT Cardio both are forms of high intensity cardio

For strictly weight loss purposes, longer/slower is probably a little better.

For athletic purposes, you need some of both.

_____
LOL - LV, I've got to go with the alternate view. I can go 2-3 hours per day of sub-AT workouts 6 out of 7 days with no problem. A hard track session (intervals) almost always forces a rest day. At my age (54), more than a couple of interval sessions a week is counterproductive because of the recovery time. You can't convince me that a half hour or so of sprints uses more fuel than my long slow distance when you consider the forced downtime, regardless of any residual metabolic effect.

Add to that, its been demonstrated that endurance athletes actually become more efficient at using fat as fuel....

I will agree with you that someone very pressed for time might be better served leaning towards the higher intensity, assuming they're heart healthy, and in good enough shape otherwise to handle it. But that wasn't the question.

YOu should have started earlier working as much as 6 mile runs three or 4 instances per week, then performing some speedwork. At this factor, i'd advise simply jogging a longer distance like four-5 miles. Just right good fortune

you're able to have began previously working as much as six mile runs 3 or 4 situations a week, then doing a splash speedwork. At this factor, i could recommend merely working an prolonged distance like 4-5 miles. good success

Slower is better cause you can pace yourself. Best thing to lose weight is consistent diet, (do not use diet pills or starve yourself) , exercise (cardio) and slowly gratually increase yourself when it comes to running cause you can hurt yourself. I'm a marine wife and believe me I know..
LOTS OF WATER! to help remove toxins and avoid cramps.
