I am going to have to call you on your BS positions... I see people find mixed race people from south of our borders and discriminate against them for immigrating illegally, but I don't see any of you crying about eurotrash in New York or Miami illegally immigrating and taking jobs, or Canadians, .. But "those darned mexicans gotta go back home"....

Yes, you are racists, it doesn't matter if you will admit it to yourselves or not.

First ! We are not against immigration ! Immigration is the legal migration of people from one country to another. Legal Immigration ! Second we aren't racist thats a word used to shut down intelligent debate on the subject. Be careful you aren't impeeding the free exchange of ideas by using that word. Your argument is all wrong. You need to have more respect for those who have waited and tried to get into this country legaly. They spend alot of money and wait for a long time to get here. Illegal immigration isn't really Immigration at all its an invasion. Millions of undocumented people flooding over our borders. Jobs ! Contractors in this area who follow the letter of the law reguarding employment are losing contracts to employers who hire illegals. But that is the very least of my worries ! Our very culture and our way of life is threatened. Diseases that were virtually destroyed 30 years ago are comming back. Illegals crossing the borders without proper immunizations are spreading diseases like TB.... Use your head man ! Its so much deeper than what your question covers.

Very good question. Actually I have had to compete and work alongside illegal aliens but its because I was totally unwilling to accept a dime from the gov't to buy milk or diapers for my kids.
But out of that I will tell you I was ALWAYS and without exception the only white guy on the shovel/broom/mop/toilet brush/pressure sprayer wand, back bent and as its sometimes said here in the south "workin' like a mexican".
But now, after college, my competition is other white people. And not just US born citizens all WASP males.

This is a total scam - trying to make the point that illegals work soooo hard for their little bit of money. They should all go home and work there to make their own countries better. They are stealing jobs from Americans. They are also stealing housing, foodstamps, medicaid, education, and our law enforcement resources.

I speak for my daughter and some of her friends that are looking for work and a first job. The answer is YES.

They have applied at a number of fast food places to work. One of the questions they get asked is, "Are you bilingual?" They all put down no. They all got turned down for that reason.

Just why do you have to be bilingual to flip a burger, serve a soda or clean a table? The places do not want Americans who want higher pay and an easy job. They want illegals who will work for less and bust their butts so they do not get fired. They want illegals who will not complain about safety violations or not being paid over time. They want indentured servants. They want people they can pay under the counter so they can save not having to pay Social Security or Workman's Comp Insurance.

So yes, jobs are lost due to the illegals. They need to go home.

No. But then I've never worked for an employer who hires illegal aliens - only employers who require that all non-US citizen employees fulfil the I-9 requirements and can prove their legal status and employment authorisation in the US.

*edit* Oh... maybe I shouldn't have even answered this question, as it's addresed to 'anti-immigrationers'. As I'm an immigrant (a 100% legal one, thank you very much) myself, I can hardly be 'anti-immigration', and I probably don't qualify to answer. But I do know that my employers don't hire illegal immigrants. So...

Yes. Of course, it was when I was much younger (and there weren't nearly so many illegals in the country). Now that I have a college degree, it's legal H1B visa holders who poach the jobs I'm after. While that's inconvenient, I don't have much grounds to object to it: thier employers are at least complying with the letter of the law.

No, illegals have not taken a job that I ever wanted. They have taken jobs that I Needed to Put Food in my mouth!!!!!!! to give me Money for said food!!!!!!!!! jobs that I should have gotten because I was and am here LEGALLY but that they got because they were here ILLEGALLY!!!!!!!!!

2007-11-15 06:36:10 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

It wouldn't bother me if Mexicans came here the LEGAL way, but most of them don't. I'm not anti-immigration, but I am anti-ILLEGAL immigration because my taxes go to give them a free life here in America.

No, no illegal has ever taken a job that I wanted. But then, I never wanted to scrub toilets or mow lawns.

2007-11-15 05:53:16 · answer #9 · answered by Bookworm 6 · 3 2

The jobs that are commonly done by illegal aliens were considered a right of passage in the workforce for students and teens. Those jobs,ie: mowing a neighbors lawn, fast food and the like were once done by Americans like myself in my youth. I do not compete with criminal illegal aliens anymore for those types of jobs, but i have and will continue to look out for the interests of the generations of Americans behind me that have lost that right of passage in the American workforce. You have proved MY point, that for supporters of illegal aliens and illegal aliens themselves it is all about them. I do not have to be in direct competition with an illegal alien to know that illegal immigration is wrong.

Nope - but they do take my tax money and raise my costs for things like:

Education
Medical
Welfare
Housing
Energy costs
Food stamps
etc. etc. etc.

EDIT:
Dummy you are a DUMMY!!!
Taxes are not a choice - buying a tomato is a choice. The cost to me in higher taxes is something that I have no control over and is far, far more then the very small costs for a little extra labor costs in farm products. The labor cost is only a few cents for a tomato -I'd gladly pay a few more cents (even a lot more then that) if we didn't have to subsidize big business for their cheap (note I did not say inexpensive) labor.
