I had some parcels delivered to my house and they were for a different address. The person they were for said she had reported them not recieved and got replacements and didnt want to pick them up. I dont know how to get in touch with the delivery company. Can I get rid/sell the stock or can I be asked to give them back to the delivery company. Ive had the parcels for 6 weeks now.

If they were delivered to you by mistake, and the person doesn't want to pick them up, or supply you with the delivery service information, you can always open up the parcels, and look for an inventory sheet. Contact the sender, and explain what happened.

I was in the same situation once & was told that you can contact the delivery company regardless of who they are that they have delivered some parcels to the wrong address & can they come & collect them you do not have to return them yourself if you do not want to as the company has the obligation to retrieve the goods. the company's return address should be printed somewhere on the address sheet if the company refuses to pick them up then they are legally yours

You should make efforts to return them, to the company who delivered them then, you have done all you can set a time limit for collection advise them of the time limit, if you keep them, you possibly could be making a mistake these goods are not yours,

I'd wait to see if they are missed or you get any contact from the firm, but hold on to them just in case, they may be trying to trace them through the delivery company.

Legally you have to make the company who sold them aware that you have them and ask them to make convenient arrangements to collect and giving your full contact details . Make sure you send this notification by some sort of recorded method so that you can prove that they received it. I think then after 6 months if they have made no attempt to collect they are yours.

Legally you should return them to the person who sent them (I take it there was paperwork in the parcels) as they actually own the goods.. if you keep them i reakon you could get into trouble for theft/handling stolen goods...

If in doubt as how to proceed, take them into you local Police office who will return them for you..

I think you could legally ask the person they were for for storage money. But since you don't want to do that I would just hang on to them until you are sure they won't be missed!

Give them to a charity shop if you don't want them. Its not your job to send them back, you didn't ask for them.

You should return them they are not yours. It was an honest mistake, but a mistake nontheless.
