You wouldnt want to use olive oil, anyway. It has too low of a burning point to use that much heat. Peanut oil is perfect for this. It is a good, healthy oil, it has a high burning piont, and it has a light, non oily flavor. Its also relatively inexpensive.

Well for 1 not only would virgin olive oil be too expensive, it has a lower smoke point, not the best oil for frying with. As far as "healthy goes", when it comes to frying try and stick with an oil that is liquid at room temp. I always use peanut oil due to its rather high smoke point. the key thing to remember when frying is to maintain the proper temperature. If you keep your oil between 350-375, the heat will sear the outside not allowing excess oil to seep into the food. Good luck!

Canola oil. But why deep fry. Even with a "healthy" oil, it's not all that healthy with that kind of frying. Any time you're using the amount of oil needed to deep fry, it's going to be on the expensive side.

Use canola oil if you can find it. Any other kind of vegetable oil will work too as long as it doesn't smoke.
