Okay, no, really. Life has no set, pre-determined meaning, because there is no deity watching your every move and judging you to be a "lost soul" because you do human things with your human brain.
That might sound like bad news, but really it's great news!
You see, without a pre-destined meaning or some kind of cosmic standard you have to life up to in order to be deemed a worthy person, you can make your OWN meaning in life. What do you love? What motivates you? What would you like to improve in this world? What legacy do you want to leave for futrue generations to remember you by? Whatever is important to YOU, as the fallible, ordinary human that you are - that is the meaning of YOUR life.
And you only get ONE life, so for goodness' sake find the meaning that makes you happiest and live it up to the fullest.

Meaning of life and purpose of life are essentially the same thing. Meaning refers to actions and purpose refers to objects but both require an intelligent plan or design. There is no meaning in babble and no purpose for a rock on mars.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Without God, we are reduced to inventing something to do that we can pretend comes from a higher source. Inventing our own purpose or meaning is self deception.
If God exists, then our purpose is to seek Him. If we were in the army and didn't know our mission, wouldn't we seek our commanding officer? Well, our purpose on earth is our mission and God is our commanding officer.

Whatever you want it to mean. We all create our own meaning.
If you're talking about some objective meaning then the question is presumptuous. It first presumes there is some objective meaning then asks what it is. Take away the presumption and you lose the reason for asking.
Even if you convince yourself or more likely let someone else convince you that there is some objective meaning it will all be a guess. So why not find your own meaning and at least you'll be happy with it instead of getting to the end and realizing you lived your whole life by someone else's meaning.

there are a lot of "lost souls here"...and, you are going to ask "lost souls" for the meaning of life? This is like asking a person who can't swim to save you when you are drowning...Makes perfect sense to me?!?! Well, i am "not" a lost soul.... "Peace!" :)

Many will say the meaning of life is to glorify oneself and provide the needs of number one which is of a selfish nature. Babies only care about themselves, even adults seem to only care for number one as well.
In Religion and Spirituality (since you asked the question here), I believe that God is the true Number One. We are meant to glorify Him. Sounds rather selfish, doesn't it? Well, He deserves it as a holy and rightous God. We don't deserve anything.
According to God's commandments, no one is supposed to lie, cheat, or steal. Jesus went on further to say that lust is just as bad as adultery and hating is murder. Therefore, I am guilty of almost all of the 10 commandments. How about you?
The Bible also goes on to say that because we are guilty, we deserve to be punished.
Someone has to pay for our sins. That Person is Christ Jesus. He took our blame on him and forgave all of us.
So believe in Him and you will be saved.

To live it. This does not mean that you should do it at any costs if you feel that you cannot do it anymore.
But if you are "just lost", then try to find a guide, leader, or mentality who or which can be a source of ideas. Do not get involved in a religion.
I am willing to help you out. Send me an email if you want to.
