Destiny: I agree, my dad was in a coma for months he never came out of it but his spirit didn't seem to be there and that was 3 months!

I don't know for sure if that's the way it goes, but I'm looking for more back up to support it...
As a christian I don't believe that we are suppose to experience death. Sure our mortal bodies will perish, but not our spirit. That's why I think you may be right, but I'm just not completely sure.

i believe it depends on the situation. i think your spirt can leave your body in a tramatic situation (a rape, a beating) or different things. i think if your in a coma or vegitative state (dont know if i spelled those right) then your spirt is gone somewhere too. for example, i think if someone is laying in bed and cannot talk, eat, or express anything and they are there for a long time, then i dont think their spirt is there, just the body. i think most of the time though, that the spirit only leaves to heaven when the body dies. i have a hard time explaining it so hopefully you see what i mean. also, my mom has schizophrenia and sometimes i like to believe (dont know if it's true though) that it's not really her and that she makes visits to heaven to see God and when her body is ready her soul comes back. maybe that's just wishful thinking, but it's hard to believe it's still the same soul when she acts so crazy.

I am pretty sure it is after you die that your soul leave the body because people have been technically dead but then came back happens in the ER every now and then.

No. I believe that when you die, your brain shuts down and that is it. No soul, no nothing. Just the end. I can't say that I don't wish it were different. I would love to exist eternally but sadly, I have never seen any evidence that proves this is possible.

The soul leaves the body only on death and never returns to this body. However it dose not die but transformed into anothe shape best known to our creator ALLAH (GOD) for its necessary reward and punishment.

An army chaplain once remarked that a lot of people are prepared to live an atheist, but nobody is prepared to die an atheist.

Your soul leaves your body the instant you die, that is what makes you dead.

I believe it leaves shortly after you die, but not immediately. But close to the very time of death. Otherwise people who have been clinically dead and experiencing Near Death Experiences (NDEs) would not have come back/revived.

Sasha,
I agree with Primoa (as I have in many instances in the past). He tends to have similar ideas to mine. Have a wonderful day and a glorious weekend!
Thanks,
