Yea there is a side that makes me wonder what it would be like to have a new chief (Alan) and then again I like Tony too. I like Tony Sr better.

I agree, there does seem to be a chemistry between Mears and Gustafson

Yes, and Jr would have been wise to leave his cousin at DEI. If he hadn't brought Tony Eury Jr with him Alan would have ended up as his crew chief. Oh well, Jr's loss is Casey's gain and I think you will see it in his results next year.

It would seem that Casey and Gustafson would work well. Casey is a great driver who has had a strong season and Gustafson has had great success atop the #5 pit box over the last couple years.

We will have to wait and see, as long as they get on the same page with communicating on how the car is handling and things like that, they will be fine. It's more about the communication verses how well the driver is or how well the crew chief is.

Dale Jr. should have Tony Jr. back at DEI and worked with Gustafson. They would have been a good team.

Indeed, Indeed!! It's going to be a great addition for Casey and hopefully will help propel his career where it should already be @ this point. Even though he only got 1 win this season, and it was on fuel mileage... He's had some TOP-NOTCH runs and looks more than promising. I expect to see a lot more from that 5 car next season!

I think that if the chemistry is right between Mears and Gusafson then they could win more than one race next year.

No doubt, this will be good for Casey and Gus both. As a Crew Chief, it will be nice to have a driver who actually listens to you once in a while.

What are they doing with Darian Grubb? My guess is keeping him in reserve in case they have to replace Tony Eury Jr.
