When Tony Blair was Prime Minister he stood on the steps of no.10 Downing Street and said 'Islam is a great religion'.
The trouble with our politicians is that political correctness takes precedence over every other consideration. Apparently, the truth does not matter to them, and if any of them actually took the trouble to study Islam, maybe they would have a different opinion.
One thing is certain, if there was a religious cult being formed today, whose leaders were behaving as Muhammad and the founders of Islam behaved, it would be banned by the very same politicians that regard Islam as a great religion and its leaders would be arrested and jailed.

100% me - - I suggest you read the history of early Islam, if you do not know about the raiding and looting of camel trains that took place, and all the people that were killed in the process, and about all the women that were sold into slavery (and their children) after their husbands had been brutally slaughtered.

1. social norms in a world where women lived to be about 30 were much different.
2. the old belief was that a girl became a woman and old enough to breed with the onset of menses, which can happen at 8 or 9 in some instances.
3. the marriage at the age of 6 was meant to give Aisha the protection of a family when she was orphaned. It's not like the division of youth & family services was going to look out for her.
I'm not Muslim, but a little understanding of where the text comes from would be nice. You're not talking about Lot's incest, are you? That could never be explain by social norms and such.

Why should anyone believe this fairy tale anymore that believe the biblical myths and legends. Your bible also refers to child marriages. Mary was only 13.
It's all made up....written by men...not "divine" word.
It was a custom in many cultures to take brides before puberty and raise them...including the Celts, Teutons, Normans, Asiatic, Arabian and most of the rest of them.
That practice continues in a very few places today. And, is mostly outlawed by every nation.

it was more then 1400 yrs ago, children at those tyms where more mature then the 6 yrs old now, and by the way its not 6...it was nine coz thats when she started her menses so she was old enough and cud start to concieve children, and im not sure if our prophet did it with her at the age of nine...she cud have just married him at the age of nine. ONLY God knows.

yes, islamic countries know that mohammad married a 8year 9mo. old little girl. the legal age of marriage today in most islamic countries is 9 for little girls. they have it because allah said that mohammad was the perfect ex ampler. muslims like to say. oh !we couldn't have a scribe write down what mohammad said. he had to marry a little girl. so she could remember it. yea, they will say. yes the sun matured them and a little girl of 9 knew what marriage was. anything but the trueth. he was a pedophile and thats why his followers are today.

Did you know that EVERYBODY did the same thing back then? It was quite common for girls to be married off as children. Most girls had a husband lined up by 13 at the latest.

My grandmother took care of a newborn baby at 12 and 2 other newborns at 14, getting married at an early age was not a problem last time. Why are you such a hater? Please, we Muslims dont hate you.
