The other disciples were there, but in at least three examples, only Peter, James (not the brother of Jesus) and John were asked to follow Him to witness the miracles and wonders that followed.

Can anyone give me any idea of where to look to find out why those three in particular were chosen?

I always use what I see as Jesus' pattern for friendship in Scripture.....

He had 72, then 12 and then 3. Everyone should have close friendships of people they can trust.........and you don't tell the 72 what you will share with the 3.

Trust and devotion to God would be my guess...............

Those 3 would become the leaders of the apostles later on after His resurrection......

Jesus probably wanted them to witness the power of God on occassion (Mount of transformation....etc) in order for them to be great witnesses.

it doesn't say...so we don't know...

Peter always seemed to be in the roll of a leader...

James and John were called the "sons of thunder"...

"And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; >to every man according to his several ability;< and straightway took his journey."

To whom much is given, much is required. We are given talents according to our "several ability".God will not place on us more than we can bear.

The bible is rife with euphemisms of gay love.....so you can imagine what they did......

For instance, what the guy above posted: "Jesus probably wanted them to witness the power of GOd on occassion"
