29Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.
Do you not know that the soul is defined as the conciousness of the mind. It is a spirit that represents your thoughts, mindset, and physical encounters.
God gave us free will so that we could be the owners of our own soul. The only thing was that we would produce a sweet spirit that would produce a scent that excited his nostrils. He never refuted this word even after we were removed from the garden. But instead replaced it with the refusal to be moved by temeptation. You gave it to god to mold it, but you relinquish it to whomever you live and die for.

God gave us free will, so we own our soul....although we, our souls, first were God's thoughts. The souls of people are the thoughts of God.

God owns our souls. But it's our job to take care of them until we return to the spirit form.

The Lord owns mine as a believer.
1 Corinthians 6:19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
In a manner of speaking, I guess non-believers' souls belong to Satan, though I'm sure they would dispute that.
