My husband is going through OCS school for the Navy. To get a Medical job and to go to pt school. Iam of course going to go with him wherever his job is and Iam fine with that, but what is the chance that he get shipped to Iraq where I can't follow him to? How many months are they gone at a time? Also how long is OCS school. I support him 100% but Iam just worried about us being apart for such a long time. We have never bneen apart longer than a week.

if he is going to be in Medical he is NOT attending OCS, he is attending OIS, totally different animal. for one, OCS is 13 weeks long. OIS, like 4. Two, he must already BE a certified Physical Therapist before he can become an Officer. If he has enlisted , he is going to Boot Camp at Great Lakes( as opposed to OCS/OIS which is in Rhode Island) then he will attend A school. you may not move to Chicago while he is in A school. to get the C school for PT, he must re enlist at least once( it is not open to first termers).

you may not follow him on any deployments or any Unaccompanied orders.. places include Bahrain, GITMO, and Diego Garcia. Deployments last anywhere from a couple of days to 12-15 months.

I am not sure the length of times for the schools you are refering to and exactly how long the Navy deploys for, my husband is Army and I know that they deploy for any where between 12-18 months, currently my husband is deployed to Cuba for 12 months, it does seems like a long time, but really it does pass by fast, I can just tell you to not fret about that kind of stuff, yes he is in the military, eventaully yes he is gonna have to be away from you for longer then a week, possibly a few months or even a year. But like you said "you support him 100%" that is all he needs and you being in that minf set you will be fine. Sure it is hard in the begining, the initial separation, but this really does gie you both time to learn more about yourselves as individuals and make you a stronger and more (in)dependent woman. Just stay stay strong and keep supporting him in anyway that you can. So him that you are able to hold things down on your own, but you love it when you have time together! I have learned that you need to make the most of the time you do have together and not worry about the separations they will come and end, but you will always have your love for each other whether you are near or far from each other! Never take the time you have together for granted! I wish you the best of luck!

What all of them pronounced, and that's merely OCS. The S in OCS stands for "college" so calling it OCS college is redundant, and thoroughly shatters my faith in you as a destiny officer.
