I've been to Talladega a bunch of times. Make sure you get tickets in one of the towers, so you can see the whole track. The Tri-Oval Tower and Birmingham Towers are best. We usually bring a tent and camp outside the racetrack. There are all kinds of places for that.

Been to Daytona 500. My suggestion is to get tickets on the front stretch so you can see the start/finish line & winner's circle live. We were on the Superstretch & had to watch in on screen. Stay in a rented townhome if you can. This will save you from having to always eat out. Good idea to arrive early in the week & early to the track it is really a good time. Take the shuttle to the race, but walk back to your car. The reason is that not everyone goes to the track at once, but everyone leaves at the same time. The walk can be fun too (you meet some crazy (but friendly) people. If you do go to the Daytona 500, enjoy. It is a BLAST & your boyfriend will LOVE it. Hope this helps.

I've been to both...I'd pick daytona get tickets near start finish up high, and don't forget the fanfest thing there, theres tons of race history there, plus daytona is just a cool place..Been to 'Dega as well, its a experience, can get alittle on the wild side there drinking and partying.. I love Daytona, you can camp, hotels will be very pricey in feb 08 cause its the 50th anniversary of the daytona 500..You'll have a great time at either race track..

I like Daytona much better--But when I do go to Talladega I sit in the Moss Thorton Grandstand at the Start-Finish line. If you decide on Talladega be Prepared to stand up the whole race to be able to see it. Especially if Jr. is leading or running up front as soon as the come off 4 the whole Grandstand will stand up each and every lap!!!!

My son and I have been to Talladega many times. It is the best track for fans the tickets are reasonable and there is plenty of free camping. Any seat on the front stretch is a good seat. The back stretch seats are OK but the sun can make visibility tough. The greatest race we saw was when Dale won the no bull million.

Talladega in the spring, the higher the seat the better the view is. Also consider going to the Busch race, alot of action in this one.

The plate are meant to make the racing safer, notwithstanding that's a lot less danger-free. real racing separates the fast automobiles from the sluggish. Plate racing keeps all 40 3 automobiles mutually. that is no longer danger-free. IRL is going 225 at indy with open wheels and cockpits. Why can't NASCAR flow 210?

I have been to Talladega a few times. Get seats high up so you can see everything. As for where to stay, I'm not so sure. We drive back home. I'm sure there are some motels close by. There's always camping.

I heard that Talladega is a much better deal for your money than Daytona.
