The disciples did it, Jesus did it, in fact all followers in the first century did it. Where in the Bible did the commandment come that the preaching of the good news were to stop. That most christians didn't have to do that anymore.

I apologise for some of the crass marks made to Jehovah's Witnesses. They are just doing what they believe, nobody has the right to dish dirt on their convictions. Disagreeing is one thing being spiteful is out!

Acts 4:29 assists us in recognizing why Jehovah's Witnesses carry out this work and others don't.

Some find it quite instructive to compare the way professed Christians carry out the "preaching of the good news" today (radio, television, churches, etc) and the way Jesus did it; having trained the first century disciples and apostles to do it the same way. Of all the groups and individuals who feel that they are consistently preaching and teaching the good news of God's kingdom, which group do you feel most closely reflects the way Jesus and his first century followers carried it out?

Some might feel that in this age of technology, television and radio are much better. Well, surely Jesus knew what type of technology would be available. Still, he gave his followers hands-on training. And what did this method include? A one-on-one way of reaching the people. Face to face, heart to heart, city to city, door to door, and yes, house to house. Ever able to answer questions on the spot. Ever able to show personal interest in the individual. Remember, Christ taught his followers to 'teach' others and make disciples. This requires much on the part of the teacher and much on the part of the student. If, however, a "student" is learning by watching preaching on television, and he has a question, how can it be answered? Can he get that preacher on the phone? Will the preacher come to his home? Answer his questions in private? Forego his own rest time to follow up the interest of someone who is hungry for the truth of God's word? Will the preacher carry on a Bible study at 2:00 in the morning? Jehovah's Witnesses do. There is no denying that this method is the one used by Christ. To say it is inferior or annoying is to say that Christ introduced an inferior way and that he annoyed the people.

Even those in the audience – numbering into the hundreds or thousands in the case of megachurches, how can a teacher possibly take personal interest in them?

Really, Christ knew exactly what he was doing. He was the greatest teacher that ever lived. His teaching methods were vastly superior to anything that could possibly ever come into being – even centuries later. And he trained his followers in this superior method. That methodology is in operation today. It works.

Again, Acts 4:29 assists us in recognizing not only the attitude of the majority towards this preaching but also the source of the power to carry it out.

Since you all are so BRAINWASHED to not look at anything other than "watchtower" publications, here is a LONG list
STRAIGHT from Your own publications, and
EVERY SINGLE ONE is a prophesy that was FALSE.........
Nothing "apostate" about them, ALL from your own material, and ALL FALSE................Why do you think that your elders

Ask people: "What IS the 'good news'?"- most people do not know. How can they teach something they can't even explain.
Some people would say: 'The good news is that if you're saved you'll go to Heaven when you die", or they think the good news is simply telling people about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 24:14 tells us: "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
The good news mentioned is about the Kingdom.

What is "the Kingdom?" Many people say "heaven" and they're right.... but it's MORE than that.
The Kingdom is the GOVERNMENT of Jehovah God. His Son Jesus rules the earth from heaven, waiting for all of his enemies to become "a stool for his feet". And then there will be perfection eventually, and there will no longer be a need for a Mediator to operate between mankind and God.
This Kingdom government is going to do what the governments now cannot. It will teach everyone the truth about God, bring people into spiritual perfection, and then into physical perfection (after Armaggedon).
God's Kingdom Government is the ONLY hope people have for a happy life NOW and eternally.
We have to spread the news of that Kingdom so everyone can benefit... so it's a work that WILL NOT end until the end of this system.

Many people completely disregard : "Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? .... Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself. 18 Nevertheless, a certain one will say: “You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from the works, and I shall show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder. 20 But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith apart from works is inactive? ..... 26 Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead."-- James 2:14-26 (I pasted only parts)

We are indeed "saved" by the undeserved kindness of Jehovah God and the sacrifice of his son. We CANNOT "work" our way into eternal life (in heaven OR on earth). But we must show appreciation and exercise faith in what they did.
When people believe "once saved always saved" why would they preach the good news of God's Kingdom Government? By their own beliefs, such a government is pointless.
Other people feel "all good people go to heaven", so again, how can they teach the good news of a government that will resurrect the dead to inherit a perfected earth as mentioned in Psalms and elsewhere? By their own beliefs, what would the benefit of having such a government be?

But, as others have pointed out, some faiths DO attempt to spread the good news as they know it. Sadly, however, a lot of churches lack the organization or motivation or knowledge (even partial) to do so on a large scale regularly. All INDIVIDUAL attempts, though, are commendable. They ARE trying and Jehovah surely takes note even if they are "without knowledge" to some degree.

Good question.

Other groups also minister to the nations the good news. To assume that the jws are the only ones is either arrogance or ignorance.

TV preachers begging for money every 5 minutes or selling scraps of "prayer cloth" for $75 is not preaching the good news of God's Kingdom. Neither is just having a clergy class do it.

All the 1st century Christians were ministers, went village to village, house to house according to their ability to preach and teach how God's Kingdom will bring relief to humankind, the earth and that Jesus was the promised Messiah.

Such a ministry is hateful to Satan. He does anything he can to stop it. So we have 10,000 religions all claiming to have spiritual light from Jesus put up by Satan just to confuse people to never find the real light. Not preaching appeals to the laziness of people. Being told they are great and fine where they are appeals to egos as does showing off with robes, hats, backwards collars.

Remember the George Clooney Batman movie where Batman stops Joker from killing him by getting him to toss his two faced coin? When Joker tossed his coin, Batman tossed about twenty similar coins in the air too. Joker fell to his death by going for the wrong ones. That is how Satan does with proper worship of God. Put out 10,000 false ways and get people to fall for it.

Frankly, because false religion is not doing God's will. They fail to obey Jesus' commands to preach the good news of the Kingdom worldwide. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20)

Jesus warned: "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.”—Matthew 7:21-23.

There is no other group of people that does God’s will by preaching the Kingdom good news. Only Jehovah’s Witnesses are making known God’s Kingdom throughout the entire earth in more than 230 nations.

On the basis of what we have just considered, ask yourself: ‘What religious group bases all its teachings on the Bible and makes known Jehovah’s name? What group practices godly love, exercises faith in Jesus, is no part of the world, and proclaims that God’s Kingdom is the only real hope for mankind? Of all the religious groups on earth, which one meets all these requirements?’ The facts clearly show that it is Jehovah’s Witnesses.—Isaiah 43:10-12.

Where do you get off assuming that no other churches preach the good news? Or that non denomination evangelists are not preaching the good news? Is your head so into your belief in one church that you are blind to the activities of all others?
EDIT-from a post asking to say something nice about others I had said:
Yes, I can find good in other beliefs. Jehovah Witnesses rightfully believe that faith without works is dead and have requirements that members evangelize. door to door distributing their publications. For me this seems to be an artificially applied action as a means of getting to heaven by works rather then accepting the Grace and Gift of salvation. My view is free will by allowing the works to be brought forth by the Holy Spirit within. At the same time I respect them for what they do accomplish which is sharing their belief with others. Some who may not other wise come to know Jesus can be reached that way.

Pride cometh before the fall.

Christians preach gospel every day, we just don't advertise it.

Do not assume that because it is not garish, that it is not being done.

Jesus commanded us to preach the good news about Jehovah God at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. we do not change anyone religion. that is between you and Jehovah God. we are the only ones going door to door. Jesus told the 12 disciples to go door to door also and we do the samething. we are not soliciting. soliciting is selling. our bibles, bible studies, watchtower and awakes are free. the boy and girl scouts are soliciting. we never ask for money but the girl and boys scouts do. they laughed at Noah and when Jehovah closed the ark, and people where trying to get in, it was to late. Jehovah did not destroy the earth, he destroyed the wicked people. Jehovah did not change his mind, it is because of Adam and Eve disobeying Jehovah and not listen to him that we grow old and die also because they are our parents. Jehovah does not want anyone to get sick and die. remember the meek shall inherit the earth. we are not trying to win point to be one of the 144,000 going to heaven. I for one am glad to live here on earth and live forever with my family

Maybe they've heard that Jehovah's Witnesses ministering is usually not welcome, particularly to people who don't enjoy solicitors of any kind stopping by for a visit, let alone someone who bears religious tracts and doctrine to talk about.
