Pagan is a blanket term that technically applies to all religions except Judaism,Christianity and Islam. So technically it applies to major world religions like Buddhism,Hinduism and Sikhism. However these religions are not usually thought of as Pagan by most people.

The most well known of the 'true Pagan' faiths is Wicca. This is a neo-Pagan faith created in the first half of the 20th century by blending elements from a number of ancient Pagan faiths.Being new does not make it any less valid as a religion though.

Other Pagans follow older paths.I am a Celtic Pagan which means I follow the religion of the Ancient Celts.Others follow the religion of Ancient Greece (Hellenic Pagans) or of Ancient Rome or Ancient Egypt (Roman and Egyptian Pagans).Others follow the various Native American religions.Another Pagan path often mentioned here is Asatru this is the religion of the Ancient Norse-the Vikings etc.

Some Pagan paths were completely wiped out by Christian persecution but most survived with a handful of followers which has made it easier for those of us who wish to follow these paths now.

There are very few things that apply to ALL Pagan paths. Most believe in a god or gods but not all.Of those that do,some have 1 god or goddess others have hundreds of gods and goddesses.Of those religions that have many some paths believe them to all be aspects of 1 or 2 supreme deities, others such as my own faith believe them all to be seperate beings.

Some believe in an afterlife, others in reincarnation etc.

Many Pagan religions accept what you would probably call magic as a fact of life but not all.Of those whose religions do believe in magic by no means all followers of the faith choose to use it.

Virtually all Pagan religions have a very strong link with nature and the cycle of the seasons. Some are animistic-believing that animals, plants, stones etc have souls like people do.

There are also many eclectic Pagans who use elements from many Pagan paths to form a religious path which only fits what they believe.

The only thing that can be applied to all Pagan faiths are the things we don't believe. No Pagan religion worships Satan,in fact most of us don't even believe he (or the Abrahamic god or Jesus)exist. We do not practice human sacrifice although many Pagan religions did thousands of years ago-though much less often as you might think-(as did Judaism).Hardly any Pagan religions-with the notable exception of Voodoo-practice animal sacrifice.

Do you mean, the whole concept of being a Wiccan, witch and/or pagan? I'll try. First off, I'd just like to say that everyone has a different view of what they believe and how they go about it, so my opinions are just opinions and may not hold true for other pagans.

I classify myself as an eclectic pagan. I'm not a Wiccan and I don't see myself as a witch. I worship several nature deities and believe very strongly in the concept of balance. As such, my beliefs are not about the classic struggle of good vs. evil, and although I prefer the benevolent side of nature, I also understand the need for the destructive side.

I do believe in magic and have managed to do a few successful spells from time to time. It's not an everyday thing and it does not define my personal beliefs.

Do I believe in magck? Yes, I believe in magick in the same way Christian believe in pray.

Can you explain the whole concept more? I can try but what concept do you want to know about? Wicca, Witches and Pagans are all different, just like Baptist, Pentecostals and Mormons are all different. You can ask 7 different Wiccans what Wicca is and get 7 different answers. You can ask 7 different Witches what it means to be a Witch and get 7 different answers. The same holds true for Pagans. I would love to answer your question but unfortunately I need more information about you are really asking.

Here is a website you may want to look over for some of your questions
http://www.wsoctv.com/specialreports/14596327/detail.html
also visit
witchvox.com
You can register free and look for others of the faith you are interested in and stores or book references in your area.

My concept will be different than other Pagans and Wiccans and Witches.
I am an eclectic Pagan. I believe in many aspects of the the spiritual plane as well as the plane of reality and existence. Magick is inside everyone and how they perceive it or use it is up to that person. Rituals are not always set. Each person or group use the ritual that represents how they feel or the need involved in their prayers, such as a healing request in a prayer or a spell to help heal a friend or loved one. It is a spiritual path and some of them are very complicated where others are very simple. The path a person chooses reflects the person and their views of the world.
I hope the links will help answer some of your questions and I starred it for some of my Pagan and Wiccan friends to see it and if they will help you.
Blessed be and Peace

The concept is too great to explain. Many paths are polytheistic, usually containing a God and a Goddess, or many gods and many goddesses. You'd have to be more specific about a path to get more info.

Yes, i believe in magick, but it's very different than what people perceive magick to be. Asking if we believe in magick is like asking a Christian if they believe in prayer.

As a Wiccan I have a functional and genuine relationship with the very real gods of my ancestors. They are real gods, not archetypes, aspects, genii, demons, spirits or figments.

As for believing in magic, I believe that our culture labels any technology we don't understand as magic. I believe in technology.
I also believe in intentional action and the power of will.

Magic is the mainstay of witchcraft. It is the attempt to control nature &/or people by the use of spells, rituals, incantations, etc. Condemned by the Bible because, to be really effective, it involves the use of demons.
