strictly speaking an agnostic says that it equally likely that there is/are god/goddess or gods/goddesses or none at all.

the critical point, however, is that for an agnostic, there is no reason to take a stance in support or opposition regarding the existence of things we simply can't even know exists or doesn't exist.

additionally, since agnostic literally means "no knowledge", even if we were to know for sure that a god like force exists, we would not be able to know any specifics about such a creature and therefore organized religion is virtually useless.

There isn't a specific set of precepts associated with agnosticism.

As Chippy notes, agnosticism can include those who subscribe to the notion that the existence of a deity is unknowable.

However, it can also cover those who simply haven't decided whether there is a god without necessarily being committed to any particular assertion regarding the existence or non-existence of God.

I think there is a Deity/God but I question the people who use their God as a way to be inhumane, unkind and judgmental.

agnosticism isnt just being unsure.

its stating that we cannot know for a fact.

its not that im sitting here going, "well i dunno what i believe so im just going to call myself agnostic"

my belief is that you cant know. the moment you can prove to me otherwise, is the moment i'll change my stance.

(this is any god in general or lack of god for that matter)

agnostics aren't "unsure", they are sure that they are "undecided"

they assure that you cannot know, and therefore suspend a decision in their minds....
