I am a religious person but I believe its a strict violation of church and state. If Perdue wants to pray, he should do it on his own time. I pray all the time but I don't make other people listen.

While I agree that ACLU does some stupid things what I find funny is you calling them Communist.
USA was BUILT AND FOUNDED upon a seperation of church and state along with other principles....so why is that so wrong to speak against today's leaders pissing on American ideals and wipe their bum with the Constitution which they are LEGALLY bound to follow.
Govt should not have anything to do with religion..ever..in any way..for BOTH their sakes. If history has shown us anything is that the country does A LOT better free from religion and religions in the past have had much more success when they are 100% seperate from government and politics.
Only a complete stone blind fool would not see this and only such a fool would WANT religion mixed with poilitics.

When politicians pray it is just a last ditch effort to claim credit for something they can't do anything to improve.
Now if it does rain he will claim it was because of his praying and the Georgians will vote for him again.
Everybody should realize that a politician publicly praying is a blasphemy and directly against what Jesus said to do.
I bet God turns Georgia into a desert forever because of this cheap political stunt.

If the man wishes to pray to his god for rain as an individual, that's his business. However, when he does it representing the government, acting as a state governor, that's a direct violation of the separation of church and state.
While I, too, hope for the drought's end, and have no problem with private citizens praying for it if they choose to, I believe the ACLU is right to call him on it.

The ACLU was organized by a communist, so I'm not surprised. I have a lot of respect for the Governor now, I had never heard of him before. I prefer the ACLJ instead of the ACLU anyway.

They are un-American. The governor has a right to express himself. The constituition guarantees it. - Congress shall make no law pertaining to an establishment of religion, NOR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF. Prayer is not religion. It is expressing faith. Religion(man made rules) is not the same as expressing faith. The liberals don't understand the difference and are wrecking our country because of their ignorance. They need to standown.

I think they speak out of both sides of their mouth and contradict their own agendas. What hypocrisy! They are a shameful bunch indeed.
