This would be hilarious except that the people involved are elected officials.

Well, maybe they're laying the seeds for a future run for Presidency. If they can prove that they prayed for something and it happened, then they can convince the general christian population that they have a direct connection to god that will guide them through their term and change America for the better (i.e. they'll get rid of all those atheists, homosexuals, and non-christians but not the divorcees and lobster eaters, those guys are forgiven). I guess we'll see in 2012, when the world is supposed to end.

That would mean that a weather "person" got it right and that would be a miracle.
