Yes the war was fought in Alaska. The Japanese occupied the islands of Attu and Kiska in the Aleutians in Alaska in June 1942. I would just google "Alaska Japan ww2" and start from there.

Quite a few Americans were based up there, in the middle of nowhere, many casualties on both sides, I believe, were mainly caused by the weather, more than combat.
