the big question is: does it agree with science, or does it transcend science?

Do you want religion in science class?

Or should it be seperate from science class?

doesn't this seem like the championship football team going into the chess club and saying "we're going to conquer chess, too"....."psst: how do you play this game?"

The bible reports facts and truth, just as science does. But just because they claim facts and truth doesn't make it so for you. What you see for yourself is true for you, and what I see for myself is true for me, even when we disagree. No 2 points of view occupy the same place at the same time.

Question 1) It is full of facts---various coins, locations, and events are quite well-supported.
Truth---Yeah, there's plenty of that too.

is there a lot of stuff in the Bible that I do not understand or believe? Yes.

Do I want it in science class?---no. Should the concept of "intelligent design" be taught alongside evolution?---yes.

I played football and will gladly whup your *** in chess if you like, my friend...B

Bible is full of facts & truths.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Truth in the Bible does not contradict science, in fact there is science in the Bible.

Daniel 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

Let me give you an example. Science says too much sugar in our body is dangerous. The Bible tells as also.

Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.

You can have your own truth... you cannot have your own facts. And the overwhelming majority of the bible is unmitigated fairy tale, with no verifiable fact.

Science and religion should keep their distance from each other. Science is facts... religion is the truth of one group and should not be considered fact.

there are true things in it, but that doesn't change the fact that its mythology. Which by the way isn't an insult. When I took myths in human culture, we discussed the bible. That is where it belongs. Or in a religion class.

the bible is full of lies and contradictions.
the truth is whatever a particular sect says it is, depending on what version you read...(so many versions)

Religion and education should be kept as far apart as possible....

THIS BOOK IS NOT WRITTEN AS A SCIENCE BOOK, IT'S FULL OF WISDOM, IT'S FULL OF TRUTH.
WOULD IT BENEFIT MANKIND, OBVIOUSLY. SHOULD IT BE TAUGHT AT HOME? YES.
WOULD OUR SOCIETY BENEFIT FROM IT? YES.
SHOULD IT BE FORCED ON SOCIETY? NO.
PEOPLE ARE FREE TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN OUTCOME.
