This will only be an issue during boot camp and you are not the first person to think they have too big of a nose and other things. They have tons of BCG's for you to try out that should take care of your issues. Once you are done with boot camp, go back to medical, get a new eye exam and go back to wearing whatever it is that you do now to see. Lasik is an option, but it is only offered under certain regulations and situations. Talk to the doctor in boot camp and then again when you get to your first real command to see if they can help you out with surgery. If they let you in the Marines in the first place you pasted whatever required tests they had and you should be fine, just crazy looking in the issued glasses for a few weeks. Good luck.

Don't stress my man. The Marine Corps will issue you some nice BIGA$$ BCGs that'll fit your mug plenty well.
No, they don't provide LASIK, and yes the gas mask will fit. You sound like you're going to need a XL. You don't need nose reconstruction either.
Those glasses they issue fit well enough for a big nose. I had to wear them but they always came lose on me. Get yourself some headstraps and you'll be fine.
Good luck with Boot. Get in shape while you can.

no, the military does not provide lasik for just anyone. there is a VERY long waiting list, and priority goes to those in MOSs that require perfect vision. you must meet minimum vision specs before you can enlist. if you failed the initial test, you may NOT enlist.
Nor will they pay for elective cosmetic surgery( ie a nose job).

Actually depending on your job, you could be bumped up in the wait for lasik and that could help your vision. and the military would pay for it. so u should check into that. because my husband had glasses but since he was an infantry soilder they got him in for lasik in less than a month. so try talking to an eye specialist through your health coverage. and if u have tri care call them and ask them for a list of doctors that could do it. good luck.

well if you failed the vision test then you wont be going to bootcamp anyway. That is of couse unless you can get a waiver for your eyes from MEPS. If you are already in my beloved Corps then you can go to an optomitrist and get a pair of civilian glasses that fits your facial structure better than the BCs.

No on the lasik surgery. You will get the ugliest pair of classes you have ever seen.
On second though just ask the fist drill instucter you see if he can help you out with your problem. I'm sure he'd be happy to help.

If you want to know what the glasses will look like, look at a picture of Drew Carey. I think he is still wearing the pair he was issued at P.I
