It would be a truly vicious fight - casualty levels unseen in history. I think it would also go nuclear - and likely quickly on the tactical level.
I'm not too familiar with the size and range of China's nuclear arsenal. I'm sure that the Russians have the numbers and range to target every Chinese city, but can the Chinese do the same?
I'm also not sure about China's second strike capability (the ability to survive and respond in force to a sneak attack on your nuclear arsenal). If it is not very capable, there is a chance that Russia could take out most of China's nuclear arsenal before the war began.
I think I would give the Russians the edge. However, the impact on the global environment and economy would be catastrophic. This is a conflict that could easily escalate in a third (or fourth) world war.

Russia!
In the beginning China would defend themselves well based upon organization and unity, but Russia is more battle tested then China and has the know how to deploy its military much like the US does. I am no expert, but I would bank on Russia, because it nothing else, they will win the nuclear race as well.

I'll say Russia... did you see how much land China lost to their neighbors on the little Island back in the 40's?
Plus, China would manufacture lead poisoned swords for their military, or give them helmets made with the same material their aqua dots had. hahahaha. Or perhaps provide them with explosive laced toothpaste. man, they wouldnt last more than a year with that kind of support.

Its a tough call..
China has much more manpower, and a slightly bigger air force, and better spending power. Russia has better equipment, better training, huge stockpiles of tanks, oil production and reserves, and mobility.
In the long run, I'd give it to Russia. If China can effectively "zerg" Russia, it has a very strong chance. However.. 2 infamous military strategists and extremely successful conquerors have already zerg'd Russia and both of them were stopped.

China would win. More money more resources.
And of course the U.S. beat Iraq in war. It was a cakewalk. What we can't do, and shouldn't have tried, is to occupy the beaten country endlessly and convert it to a form of government that we like.

We (russia) would win, hands down. We have better tanks (and more of them) FAAAR better air force, and better artillery tubes, and a better navy, with better trained troops. It would be very, very bloody and savage, but in the end, we would win.
We also have 3 unstoppable generals. Gen. Vasily Snow Gen Viktor Cold and Gen Vladislav Mud.
They have turned every enemy force that came back with their tails between their legs. :P

My guess would be China. China has the sheer number of troops, nukes and financial resources to out gun most countries, including the US.
The only advantage the US has is superior technology.

There's no way in telling....if America went to war with Iraq...who would win? Of course we all would have said America....but look how it's going. Not so well...and we're the best equipped amongst everyone else in the world.

If they used nukes, no one.
You can't "win" a nuclear war.
Hell, you can't "win" most conventional wars either. Wars only cause death and loss.
