OMG this is taking things to far in my opinion. Soon nobody is going to be able to speak at all because of the fear of offending somone, and it will be a very dull and silent world when that happens. what happened to freedom of speech? Leave Santa alone, if you get offended at him saying ho ho ho then maybe you should really look at yourself and the life style you live because if you where not living a ho's life style then you should not get offended when it is said by of all people Santa Claus. lets all focus on what really matters, like how broke America is becoming by sending things we could really use here, over seas and not recieving a thing in return.

I am so glad some one understands my POV. thanks so much everyone, now if we can just make more people see what we do, maybe this world would be more bonded together instead of waring with each other over what some one said to the other that offended them in some way or other.

Well, let's make this clear... this wasn't started by any women's rights organization. It was a recruitment firm in Sydney trying to anticipate how women *might* be offended. Of course, they were wrong. Their argument is anachronistic: "ho ho ho" existed long before "ho" did.

Pirates can't say yohoho either. I think Santa was around WAY before the hookers.

If that is offensive to them, shouldn't we rename "crackers"? Crackers are a pretty good snack that have been around quite some time, but isn't cracker in the same list with the N word?

The Muslims think Baby Jesus shouldn't be in the nativity scene this Christmas. Well, they invented Algebra. So I say, TAKE ALGEBRA OUT OF SCHOOL then!! People are fine without it! It's not going to be a life and death thing if you don't know Algebra!!

Besides, Santa is a great person for all children. See, if you are nice, good things will come to you. Changing Santa isn't a very smart things. Santa says hohoho. There isn't anything wrong with that!

Besides, if you are offended by something, it only means that it is true!!

EDIT-What? They want Santa to loose weight? Man, those people are nuts! There isn't anything wrong with being overweight. If you are overweight, that's fine, if you aren't, that's fine. America is constantly putting kids up on the spotlight. You HAVE to look pretty. Being "fat" is being someone who is worthless to society? Bah, that's pathetic!

I agree with you. If a woman gets offended by Santa saying Ho Ho Ho then she should take a good look at her lifestyle.

Ho Ho Ho is supposed to be Santa's laugh. Whats next? Someone getting upset because they think Santa is laughing at them not with them...

PC at it's bottom of the barrel worst! BTW, they've been told to say "Ha Ha Ha" instead of "Ho Ho Ho" because it's been deemed 'offensive toward women'! This is the decline of society and shows the lack of morals too. (Not just in America) The problem is that no one drew the proverbial line in the sand and this is what has become of the world. You cannot say Merry Christmas, instead say: Seasons Greetings. Can't say: Halloween, instead say: Harvest Festival. Can't say Christmas tree, instead say: Family trees. Can't say French fries, instead say: Freedom fries. Can't say anything anymore more without some overly sensitive, easily offended, shlup complaining and everyone getting scared. I agree, it's time for people to wake up and use their common sense!

I agree that if you're offended by Santa saying "Ho, ho, ho" you need to take a good long look at why. Did you also hear that now they want Santas to lose weight???!!! (Although Buff Young Santa would be fine with me.)

Especially weird since the article points out that Ho (for whore) is American slang, and these santa's are in Australia. If it were slang there too, it would still be dopey, but they point out it is American slang. And #2, small kids would not be aware of the "alternative" meaning of ho, so they would be oblivious to the fact that santa "might" be disrespecting American ho's. Bah Humbug, as Scrooge used to say!

I agree, it's stupid. Santa should be able to continue saying ho ho ho.

So ho ho ho to all of you out there.

"ho", while it has been made up as a bad word, isn't really a word at all! "hoe" is a gardening facet, and if h says "hehehe", people will think he is Fat Albert. Imagine how wrong that would be! Weird Harold is too big to be an elf! lol.
