Who else is a terrible person and will not be sending Holiday cards?

Yeah, I'm a slacker. I don't even have an address book. I'm calling the people I love during the holidays, not sending cards. :-P

I've been sending cards for 40 years, although I slowly cut back to family members and close family friends.. Last year, for the first time, I decided it was a pain and I wasn't going to send any. It felt guiltily great, but I did get a few calls from people who wondered if they missed a death in the family. Sheesh. I vote never to start sending cards, and then people never expect them. You also can avoid going through a few seconds of angst when you later want to drop someone from a card list in the future..

my only regret is that people still send me carrds and I can't help but feel a bit of "guilt", ... not for the holiday (sic) but for the imbalance in interpersonal 'rememberings'

I never have sent cards, my hubby used to have his kids send a card to their birth mom, but we haven't in years. That's the commercialization of the holiday getting to you. Don't think you are a bad person, just money wise!

i comprehend the way you experience. Your sister is in order that used to spoiling her daughter, and so she accepts each and every thing. Your niece is spoiled because she never had each person discuss her blunders and each person to perfect them by ability of words or moves (grounding her). bear in suggestions, on the prompt she might want to look bratty, yet when your sister shall we her stay like that, then your niece might want to be the most hated human being in college and all at the same time as she grows up with that type of personality. no human being likes a spoiled brat. you ought to really confront your sister, and be ambitious mutually with her. tell her what's perfect and incorrect. otherwise, she might want to besides no longer come over for your position. Your sister needs some parenting skills and be extra strict.

I will be sending out a few Yule Time greeting cards ....maybe a dozen .I cut way down on them as the cost of stamps keep going up.

A few years ago, we stopped doing this. And we stopped giving gifts, and we asked that others don't give us gifts either. We make exceptions for the kids because they are young and it's hard to tell relatives not to give them something.

We just realized that Christmas is 95% a commercial beast and so we decided to drop out of it. We still do the tree and some small gifts for the kids, but nothing elaborate.

The funny thing about Christmas gifts is that it is almost all junk that you don't need or want. It has become meaningless gestures of giving crap to each other. Thumb me down if you like, that's my experience.

I send them and now I have created a monster- with a growing and expanding family who are all interested in the next picture card with my whole family and what they are doing- of course it has to be amusing but not offensive to any one and different from last year and I must find one picture of myself that I don't despise (any of me are rare and the ones that meet with my approval are slim)

Me too. Mainly cause family and friends are in far away countries. Nowadays I find few nice posters at http://www.viewposters.com and send them a link LOL :) And if ever call them I use a cheap calling card like http://www.phonecard-deals.com Works like a charm.
