I am a monk in los Angeles, and if we are able to start a preaching center, i'd like to worship a diety of Krishna made from jewels like ruby, if anyone knows anything about this process, ie; how to purchase large pieces of gems, real or labratory made , how to carve them and join them, please let me know, Giridhari Monk

That is a tough one. I would contact someone associated with the Gem exposition held yearly at Tucson AZ. One of the organizers there would probably be able to point you in the right direction.

Let me see if I can find a link for you.

EDIT----------------------------

Check out the link below and contact them, I am sure they will be able to help.

Can you explain why an Idol of Krishna is needed for worship?
