The 2 most popular burning CD/DVD software is Nero and Roxio. They offer roughly the same tools and features. Nero has some more advance editing tools but can be difficult to use; the controls are not very intuitive. Roxio may not have all the advance features like Nero but it is easy to use. Both are fairly expensive and plan on sending $100.

In regards to copying DVD's which you have bought, you will require at least one other piece of software. In many countries, including the United Sates, even if you bought an geniune DVD movie, it is against the law to make copies of it. In order to make copies of DVD movies, you will first need a software program to decrypt the DVD. There are several software programs which can do the trick. Someone has already mentioned Slysoft's AnyDVD, which, while not free, comes with a free 21 day trial. It's a great program and it can decrypt HD and Blu-ray as well.
