Oh yes, you have to be very careful with processed meat because you don't cook it to kill the bacteria. Always be safe.I don't take risks when it comes to hygiene with food. For $4 worth of meat to throw away is better off then having a loved one or myself in hospital drastically sick..You can get so sick from some bacteria you can die. It's not worth the risk.

Do you eat meat for breakfeast? Otherwise what is the point of leaving meat out over night. Fine, a large piece of meat takes longer to defrost, but then just leave it covered in the fridge. A normal size piece of meat, as an example for dinner can be taken out in the morning and put it in the fridge around lunchtime or a little later. Then the meat should be perfect for around dinner.

YEs it is bad to leave any meat out for any lenght of time processed meat is bad right out of the pack i could not imagine it 8 hours at room temp

Any meat product, even cooked, should be refrigerated. Bacteria will start growing soon after it reaches room temperature.
