Hold on, there man. Lowes issued an apology about that. They said it was missed in editorial reviews and was a complete mistake. They said they have always called them Christmas Trees and always will. They are still calling them Christmas Trees. So...they havent' won quite yet.
Edit:
Kjelstad, here's one for you. Christmas trees are decoarted with ornaments and lights. Jesus is known to us as the light of the world. How about that for some symbolism?

I thought we had already gone over this in a previous question?
I view Christmas at this point as a cultural holiday. Seriously, do you think early Christians wanted Christmas to be all about buying iPods and plasma TVs and putting up a Christmas tree (which are pagan anyhow)?
FWIW, we have a small Christmas tree (small so we can put it up somewhere high where our cats can't get at it). If I feel decent, I put that up along with some porcelain holiday houses that my mom and I handpainted when I was middle school age. I also personally send out a ton of "Season Greetings" cards.
Also, I used to work at a place where a co-worker demanded all the Christmas decorations be taken down. Everyone howled about how it was some atheist until it came out that it was a Jehovah's Witness who made the demand.
I don't group all Christians with the crazy Christian zealots who protest at soldier's funerals, blow up abortion clinics, or hoard weapons at some bizarro complex (while busy molesting 12-year-old girls); please stop grouping all atheists with the crazy atheists. There's good and bad in every group of people.

What does an evergreen tree have to do with the fairy tale story of Jesus? Nothing, it's actually from the Roman holiday, the feast of Saturnalia, when they would bring evergreens into their home and light candles. All those 'traditional' things that you associate with christmas, have more to do with pagan celebrations than your religious cult fairy tales. As an atheist, I could care less if they call it a christmas tree, a family tree, or a holiday tree. Most atheists are not concerned at all with someone using the word christmas, you need to search for another source for your 'oppression'. What does Santa Claus, Rudolph, Frosty, etc have to do with Jesus? Everytime you celebrate your 'christian' holiday with pagan elements like christmas trees, evergreen wreaths and commercialize creations, you show only your own idiocy and ignorance, and the atheists laugh at you for it.
Atheists have plenty better to do than laugh at christians, but you have to take time out for the laughter too. I was the high school nerd, and your analogy is further flawed because the atheists are not bullying christians, simply pointing out their illogical and immature beliefs.

Why not give them a pledge of your time instead? Sounds as though there are some family issues to sort out here if you are saying they don't bother with you and you feel 'forced' Me and my family all agreed to not buy for each other as we are cash strapped. We have a get together instead and all chip in. Much more fun. p.s. my MIL is loaded and she bought me a £1 trolley token last Xmas, had a good laugh over that!

I don't see how a lighted tree, a fat guy in a red suit, and presents wrapped in comics has anything to do with religion. Christmas was ruined for Christians a long time ago by America and Hallmark.

Actually this is the first Christmas I will be alone, so I might NOT get out the tree and lights. Which BTW have nothing to do with your god?
I seem to remember a cross and nails, not a Fir tree and lights. Stop maintaining the lie. Christmas is an old pagan holiday which Christians hijacked. Get over it. Happy Holidays.

Christmas is such a commercial holiday now. There's practically no celebration of Jesus' birth except in church services.
Thanksgiving isn't a holy day either, but my old church still holds a service.
Call it a Christmas tree, I don't care. Personally, I want a Festivus pole.

What are you talking about?
I have a Christmas tree. I listen to Christmas music, bake goodies, give and get presents, have a big meal. How in the hell am I trying to get rid of Christmas?
Oh, and I'm also waiting anxiously for the 24-hour "A Christmas Story" marathon.
Back off.

You realize that when a company decides to change the name of a product, it's usually because it sells better that way. It has nothing to do with atheists.
EDIT:
Lowe's is also calling them Christmas trees again.
