What is the verse in which Jesus Christ mentions the Trinity?

"Then go forth and baptize in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
In this line from the Gospels, Jesus Christ clearly establishes the concept of the trinity. Which verse is that?

28:18 Then Jesus came up and said to them,26 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 28:19 Therefore go27 and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,28 28:20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember,29 I am with you30 always, to the end of the age.”31

Before I answer your question, it must first be established what the trinity is. The Catholic Encyclopedia calls the Trinity teaching “the central doctrine of the Christian religion,” defining it this way:

“In the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: ‘the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.’ . . . The Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent.”

As the Catholic Encyclopedia says, the trinity is defined by the Athanasian Creed. Does it harmonize with what the Bible says about who God is? Let's see.

The word "trinity" is not in the Bible. But is the concept there? Is there any scripture that says "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.’ . . . The Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent"? Take a look at the verses that others have used to prove the trinity.

Matt. 28:19 is one such Biblical "proof." There, it says: "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit." Does this in itself imply the existence of a trinity? A family might consist of a father, a mother and a son. Yet no one would say that they are a trinity, with each family member having equal authority, knowledge and power.

Also, does Matt. 28:19 say that the Father, Son, and holy spirit make one God as trinitarians claim? No.

How about Luke 3:21, 22? Is this proof of a trinity? It says: "Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized and, as he was praying, the heaven was opened up and the holy spirit in bodily shape like a dove came down upon him, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.” In this verse, do you see any evidence that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are co-equal, co-eternal AND that they make up one God? Not even close.

One note to this verse is that it is NOT a quote from Jesus. Jesus did not mention anything about a trinity here.

The fact is that the Bible does not support the trinity. As the quote above from the Catholic Encyclopedia says, the trinity is based on the man-made Athanasian Creed, NOT the Bible.

Jesus and his disciples never taught that God was triune and that he (Jesus) was God the Son. Jesus taught that God was one person, NOT three. At John 17:3, he said to his Father: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." Since the Father, Jehovah, is the ONLY true God, there can be NO trinity.

hi......you're extremely perfect the Bible never mentions the trinity, there are the kind of number of scriptures to educate that Jesus is the Son of God, and not God. the in difficulty-free words verse that maximum religions use is John a million;a million, yet John a million;2,says the note, changed into WITH God interior the start, so as that scripture,and all of those you stated are tossed aside, or diregarded.in reality Heb a million...a million-14, explains obviously that Jesus isn't God, to be consumer-pleasant I could also't see how trinitarians after studying the Bible, can come to the top that Jesus,God and Holy Spirit are One. i think that's difficult for some who've believed for therefore long to regulate their perspectives, .

There is no such verse, Jesus never mentioned the Trinity...

He did mentioned his father was God, that He was his SON, and that the Holy Spirit was God's active force, our helper..John 14:16, 17

The Trinity was adopted in the 3rd Century by the new formed Catholic church....it was a residue from the Egyptian, Babylonian and other pagan societies Tri-God tradition.

If i said baptize them in the name of the English football team does that make the team one entity ?

The verse is Mat 28:19 but the word "trinity "is not in the bible.Y?because it is only used by the roman catholic,and their definition accdg to their catholic encyclopedia is that trinity means the father,the son,holy spirit is equal which is cant be found in the bible.not biblical instead what it is in the bible is that the father is greater that the son

He doesn't.

He mentions the work of the spirit which is from God but not God in of itself.

He mentions his father who he says is his God.

He only mentions himself as receiving the kingdom from his God and Father. He says do not call him good but call the father good. He sits at the right hand of God.

God being split into 3 things is not correct.

It was just a way to justify calling Jesus a God when he clearly was not Yahweh himself.

Sure Jesus was divine but that's a far cry from calling him a god or even Yahweh.
