I told him I was still definitely interested in accepting an offer. He then said he would call me back in about 40 minutes, which he did. Then said he wanted to meet with me informally for a couple of beers just to, mostly shoot the bleep. I was thrown by the fact he called me to see if I was still on board for accepting an offer and then called back to say he wanted to meet again. The first two times were formal interviews. This would be the third interview and will be informal.

After the second interview they said they would make a decision within 48 hrs and called back after only 24. He even apologized for not getting back to me sooner.

Sounds like they're having trouble deciding between you and another candidate for the job. Don't mistake the next interview as informal and let your guard down. They are still judging you, so be professional. Good luck.

You don't know what his motives are. This may be an informal interview to see if your personality (out of the office) will mesh well with the other people in the office. I wouldn't stress it. Go, have a good time. It's okay to drink (if he is drinking), just keep it in moderation. A beer or two. But certainly not more than him.

Be polite and professional, but this is also an opportunity to impress him with who you are out of the office, not just in a suit from 8-5. Use it to your advantage!!

DO NOT drink at this "informal" interview. Other than coca cola or soda of course, but NO ALCOHOL.

Like the first answer said - Be professional, wear interview clothes and do NOT drink any alcohol. And dont smoke if you can possibly hold off for a while.

Depends on the employer - they may have to approve the hiring through EEO, depends on the size of business, and other factors. Don't give up yet, it can take time. good luck!

You are probably their second choice, and the first guy hasn't committed, so they are hedging their bets...if you really want the job, play along.
