ok I have 2 questions, first a little history, I have 2 girls, their dad and I were never married, he was arrested when they were babies for sexualy molesting my oldest daughter and I went to court and had is parental rights terminated so he is no longer their dad legaly, I have always wondered though, since we were never married would I still be considered to be Auntie to his younger brother and sisters kids and (God forbid this ever happen) if in the future he meets someone and has more kids would those kids be considered my girls step or 1/2 siblings?

I hope my girls never want anything to do with their dad but once they turn 18 that will be their choice and they would probably want to know if they have any younger sisters or brothers, my older sister and I were adopted when we were young and after we turned 18 and met our biological mom we found out we have 2 younger 1/2 sisters that we would like to meet.

Why are you spending one iota of time thinking about this POS? Surely you have something better to do than this?

Since you are not a blood relative, whatever you would be to his family would be in name only. That is, you would only be related to them by marriage. Since you guys weren't married, you share no family relationship with his siblings. If this man has more children, they would indeed be half brothers and sisters to your children, by blood. And while I can understand you not wanting any contact with this man, you should know about any children he has, to avoid problems later (especially if you and he live in the same town). You wouldn't want one of your girls to fall in love with his son. Understand? Things like this don't happen often, but they happen.

You are a very courageous woman and your children are most fortunate to have you as their mom! Best wishes.

Okay yes you would still be considered auntie to those kids if you want to..basically if you act like an aunt and be ther for their bdays etc. you are considered their aunt, but that is up to you..you can choose to never be known in their life..and as far as if he has more kids....they would be your kids 1/2 sibilins because they have different moms.
