I would like to see him win of course, just to stick it to Theresa.
But chances are he will finish on the back of a tow truck.
Why would they give him a top notch engine on the last race?
They have been sticking it to him all season.

Well I thought with the success he has had at Phoenix, that he would win. I was there and saw him hit the wall. If he doesn't at Homestead this will be the first time that a North Carolina born driver didn't win least one race in the season. Yes there's other drivers that where born in North Carolina, like Dale Jarret, Kyle Petty, Scott Riggs, and Brain Vickers. So I will have to say no.

I don't think that matters. I would bet he does finish the race, somewhere between 10th and 25th place. After all, we all KNOW Teresa is going to find the worst engines and equipment and put the vinyl #8 Budweiser skins on it, and Jr. will do everything in his power to try to compete with it.
The important thing now is to figure out what kind of excuses we can make for him next yr.
Perhaps, HMS is only bringing him over to make their other drivers look good. They will have him on a different set-up crew. Kyle Busch looked really good at times this yr which is probably why they don't want him back next yr.
Or even a more diabolical scenario. Perhaps Jr. hit the wall in Phoenix to prove to HMS that he's a team player and will do whatever's necessary to help them make the #24 and #48 look good.
Well, there's a start, anyway. I think we can embellish on this a bit and it should take the conspiracy theorists at least until Daytona to chew on this stuff, and then with the new season we can just make stuff up along the way.

Been Jr fan for better part of 10 years, as much as I would like for him to take the checkered flag, I really hope he does not give the stepwitch a win for the 8 car. Save it all for the 88

No, which to me it doesn't even matter to me anymore. I'm a HUGE Dale Jr. fan, and all that matters to me is seeing him in the #88 car and what he can achieve at the Daytona 500. Teresa is such an idiot for letting Dale Jr, dress up and walk out the door for GOOD. Dale Jr. made the best choice for him, and no one else. This race doesn't matter anymore, I'm waiting for the Daytona 500.

He certainly is going against major odds here, I'm praying for a great finish, lead some laps, top 5 finish win if he can..but please no blown motors, keep all the wheels on , great pit stops, let him have a great race, I'd love to hear him go out happy, its been a rough season listening to him on trackpass, I told him this over in phnx, yes, he does have a great sense of humor....Lets have a great, safe race and come out a winner for your team...(I could care less about Teresa)....Be great to see that red #8 in victory lane...
Go Dale Jr.. win at Homestead..

If I was Junior i'ld just drive like Mark Martin would and just plain old finish. Certainly he should be able just to finish the race. DEI should at least make sure his ride is good enough to finish the race. If Junior isn't racing hard, and his car fails, that would be some pretty sad drama. I guess i'll have to flip a coin on this one!

Can say one thing about Jr.....he has GUTS...takes big balls to walk in the DEI garage and face people...what a disgrace to a fine organization..tore up more cars than anyone this year..going to be under such pressure next year, being associated with 2 real champions..going to try to match their ability, and the embarrassment starts all over again...

I hope he does but it just hasn't been his season. I like Dale a lot but the truth is he's not the caliber driver as Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, Kenseth, Edwards, or the Busch brothers.
Next season he will have no excuses, and in my opinion has none for this year considering the great year Martin Truex Jr has had. I do wish Dale all the best next year.

The odds have been against him this whole year. I will be so happy next year when he is outta there & with a winning team, he deserves that. Boy wouldn't it be great to see him pull that #8 into Victoy Lane one last time. Then wave buh-bye to Teresa the Wicked Witch of DEI.
