Bad. I realize it's a "compromise" to help ward off offending certain factions, but it often just goes too far.

I believe being politically correct is a bad thing, but not for many of the silly reasons that you have received.

I think being politically correct is corrupting our nation and pulling us further from God, and His will for us. Being politically correct says that a gay couple should have the same rights as a married couple for insurance and so forth. Since it is in sinful, they should not. Nor should they marry, or have any special privileges. The same can be said for couples living together outside of marriage. Many expect to be able to insure their significant other, or have a say over them in a terrible accident, etc. Sorry, no way.

Abortion is politically correct. Do you think God is happy about that?

Woman are to have equal pay an equal rights....why? The Bible states differently.

Some would say we've evolved...is a new day and age, culture this and that. God's word for us is the same now as it was then, and is just as relevant as well.

God bless.

The intent is positive but the practice is negative. Half the time I'm at the neo-hippy food co-op I just want to slap the ever so PC posturing, Volvo driving, soccer mom, greener-than-thou, wannabes. But that would be frowned upon.

Not a great thing..
you cannot legislate people into being decent human beings.
There are some people who respect others and some that don't. End of.

Bad.

Anyone against free speech should try living in Pakistan for a few months, if they can manage to live that long there.

Both.

Good because its core is being mindful of how our careless language affects others and respectful of others' needs.

Bad because it seems to eliminate expectations of reasonable emotional health, like if I say "black person" in stead of "African American" I have somehow sullied this person's sense of self and place in life. Anyone who actually feels that way is in need of counseling for themselves, not censorship of others.

A ridiculous thing actually. Each of us ought to practice courtesy to others continually. Saying HO HO HO causes offense? I think that anybody who bastardizes English that badly is far more offensive.

Bad.
a small amount of people who become upset on behalf of another section of society they know nothing about.
Do they ever ask if those people are upset by a paticular word or phrase???

The exact same actions are called "politically correct" if you think they're silly and "polite" if you think they're normal.
