I have read they are fleeing to Canada while others are being charged. Is this publicised by the media or is it hushed up. I have heard it is in the thousands. Good on them too.

Sounds like somebody decided that you are a gullible fool.

And was right.

A few probably are but those are the people who joined the military to get something for them selves out of it and not to serve; they are deserters. I douubt if it is thousands or a massive number like you seem to think. Unauthorized Absence and Absent Without Leave numbers re higher then average but not by a lot and many of those are personnel being late back to duty or returning from leave. They are not military people fleeing to Canada to escape going to Iraq for anu large number. Some news repors and people are looking at the total and acting as though everything is related to Iraq but most are just like in normal times and have nothing to do with Iraq; it is like saying all accidents are caused by drunk drivers.

The question is are the soldiers aware of the huge numbers of soldiers who are refusing to serve in Iraq? the answer is no. The reason we troops aren't aware of that is because it's incredibly RARE. You read wrong.

Haven't heard a word about them. If they are fleeing, then they are cowards. If you don't want to serve the country as asked, then don't join the military and take advantage of it's benefits. If soldiers refuse to serve-they should be court-marshaled.

If they flee to Canada they are no longer US Soldiers..

They are deserters. And Canada returns deserters.

Actually less members of the military are going awol now, than before the Iraq war.

Kind of blows your whole theory out of the water doesn't it ?

The numbers aren't huge... it's just the only way the liberal newpapers can sell their rags! You hear about the few and believe it to be the many... do you believe everything you read?

Nope. Haven't heard anything about them. I live near a military base and have friends and relatives in the military. Strangely, they haven't mentioned anything about this mass migration of soldiers to Canada. Can we have the link to your BS source? Much appreciated.

Whats a huge number? Where is your documentation? Until you show that..your question/comment means nothing.

You, my gullible ranting liberal fiend... er...friend.... are believing what you want to hear.

Some are cowards that decide to join but then can't live up to what they said they would do, but there are not thousands that are just leaving.
