I am Currently in the ARMY, I have 3 years left. I have been wanting to switch for Marines for some time now. Is there a program that can help me with this... Something similar like the Air Force's blue to green program? No RUDE comments please?

You may can...although you might have to go through Marine basic training, since it's a little longer than Army basic. You also might have to extend a year or two in order to do so.
One caveat...with the war in Iraq (and elsewhere), personnel moves might not be allowed right now. Sorry...
You need to talk with a Marine personnel guy...maybe even a recruiter could help you. If you try and speak with an Army guy, I rather suspect he might try and discourage it, and "accidentally" fail to mention any transfer options.
Good luck!

My husband switched from the Marines to the Army and he did not have to go thru Army basic, but I am pretty sure that you will have to go thru Marine Corps Bootcamp if you are coming from the Army. I have also hear that you may lose some rank going into the Marine Corp from the Army. I am not sure if that is absolutley for sure, just rumored. Since my husband wants to go back to the Marines and not stay in the Army, but he isnt going too. We have learned that the grass isnt always greener on the other side, every branch has its down falls. You really need to think about what is your reasons for wanting to do this? I wish you the best of luck!!!

No. YOu have to finish one enlistment and one contract at a time. Blue to Green also requires you to finish your current enlistment. In three years you MAY be able to enlist in the Marines, but there is still no guarantee. Usually one branch of service doesn't like to take on people from other branches but give it a try and do your research before your three year enlistment is up. Go talk to a Marine recruiter, who knows, they may enlighten you to the point where you don't want to be a Marine anymore or you may not even qualify to be one.

You can but you would have to go to Marine Boot Camp.

On a side note: for the person who said that war is evil and bad. That maybe true but it is a necessary evil. There are many people throughout the Bible who have faught war and won through the hand of God. If you want to quote an Old Testament verse like Isaiah 2:4, you may want to move back to Eccel. 3:3 that says "For everything there is a season..there is a time for war and a time for peace..." If you want to know the whole truth. Read the entire Bible not just the parts that you agree with.

Only if your service signes off on it. Chances are they won't but I've seen it happen. A Marine I knew finished his contract in the Air Force. Someone made a mistake in letting him go so I doubt you'd be able to do the same. Honestly just do your time. It's not that long.

Oh yes and you will have to go through Marine boot camp. It sucks. I've been there.

Just because there is only a unit in Afghanistan right now, doesn't mean that they won't send more later. Units flip-flop from one area to another. And there are Marines fighting in Iraq as well. The fact is, you don't get to decide where or when you want to fight a war, all you can do is choose to join, and what branch.

You can contact the marines and tell them you're interested, but until your contract is up you can't sign on with them. Also, you will be required to go thru Marine Boot Camp....

I've been in the Navy for almost 7 years now, yes you can switch services it happens all the time. You'll have to contact your career counselor about terms that you may have to attend to.

you must serve out your contract first, and unless things have changed... if first in the marines, you do not have to go through basic for another branch of the service if you want to go in another branch, but if you serve in another branch then decide you want to be a Marine, you Must go through Boot Camp for the Marines. Thanks for serving!
