If i have 5 servers and 5 IP addresses can how do i connect to the network ? with all of them having Internet connectivity?

Yes this is a home network and it is something i love to do. Just grappling with the distribution business. (if only there was a universal linux, which im sure somebody will start).

I have the following:
-- 4 pcs at home with vmware on most of them.
-- I have a DSL connection and 5 ip address to go with it.
-- I still have not bought the Router. Contemplating what to buy. (I see some hardware firewall and AV soultions. Do they have routing capabilities
-- I have an 8 port switch which i use for P2P networking

So i would assume that Email Server Sofware can be allocated static ip addresses
What about domain controller. Will it be able to control the other servers?

Thanks a ton for all the guidance so far.

Just link to your ISP and activate your firwalls. or you can use one single external IP with a load balance connection..

It would be nice to have more information here as we cant give you what you need accurately. Based on what you have given us the direct answer would be, without making assumptions, just to plug them in to your network, either VIA a hub, switch or WLAN.

Now if I am going to assume certain things are in place or your looking for guidance then I will offer these solutions. I am going to again guess and say your doing this from home. If this is the case you will need to get a hub or switch unless you want to go wirelessly (typical servers do not normally run over a WLAN). Once you do this and get it on your LAN, that is between your cable/DSL modem and you then you simply plug them in to the hub/switch (or router if you have one). If your IP addresses are static, meaning your ISP gave them to you and you pay extra for them (this is a general assumption as most ISP charge for static IPs no days) then you need to configure your IP addresses for each server if you haven’t already. Then just plug them in. If not then you will need to configure DHCP on your router/switch (if the switch has that capability). Then just plug them in.

Anyway let us know what you got and what is helping and we can move forward from there.

Either use WiFi with a WAP, or a router that supports 5 LAN ports.

you need a router and config. it with your ISP's ip address to be the gateway.
