USA has the Monroe Doctrine... which, as I understand it, means the USA reserves the right to "kick-off" if any foreign government does anything it doesn't like with any of the Americas. What USA says goes for the entire Americas.
However USA seems to think it can set up a fancy tech missle system right on Russia's doorstep.
The Russians are right to be sceptical... the Turks, the British, Napolean and the French, the Germans........ no group ever learns and think they can take Russia on. I say fair play to Russia for nipping it in the bud.

Funnily enough there is a threat to the USAs navy ! The Russians have, and have sold missiles to China and Iran that they have no defence against ! They are worried big time !
The "Sunburn missile" travels at mach 2.5 and cannot be stopped once fired America`s 5th fleet , if cornered, could be lost in the waterway between Iran n Iraq --go ahead google it, you`ll be amazed
One war to many for the USA im afraid...

No. I think it is just a silly game the Americans and Russians are playing. Russia wants to prove that it is still a big player in the world and I think America is trying to wind them up. It is simply political tit for tat. I do not think for one minute that either country would want to spark a new war. There are already too many dangers in the world from other sources. India, Pakistan, China and Iran need monitoring more than Russia.

When analysing American governments' actions abroad always first look at what is happening domestically in the States.
The current administration is not doing too well on range of issues from the economy to immigration and the "war on terror".
A new Cold War, with a new "demon" abroad to focus peoples attention on and away from domestic concerns would suit some American policy makers, Republican and Democrat, just fine.

Whatever. Britain must continue to support America in defence of the West, the same as it does in defence against islamic terrorist. America is our strongest and closest ally.

It would seem to me that it takes 2 to fight so the question could read Has Russia sparked a war with The US? But knowing you are an American basher you would put it this way.
